Castle Lake - This glacial alpine lake, formed over 10,000 years ago, spans 47 acres. Native Americans frequented this area in the 1850s. It is a popular spot for swimming, offering a beautiful and tranquil setting.

Mount Shasta - Second stop: Wagon Camp Road. This area is celebrated for its intriguing geological and spiritual importance. Often linked with Ancestral Mt. Shasta, it is believed to have a spiritual vortex energy. Discover the famous Lemurians, the City of Telos, the Yaktavians, known for their bell-making, and more. Depending on road conditions, we will either walk or drive in. This stop lasts 15-30 minutes.

Red Fir Flat Group Campground - Ascension Rock is a renowned Power Spot! It is a short walk in, and many people enjoy silent meditations here.

Bunny Flat - This is the main trailhead on Mt. Shasta, located at 6,950 ft. It’s a great place to stop for photos and restroom breaks.

Old Ski Bowl Trailhead - At 7,900 ft., the Old Ski Bowl on Mt. Shasta is accessible from July 1 to November 1, weather permitting. Learn about the history of the Mt. Shasta Ski Lodge, which operated from 1959 to 1978 until a series of avalanches led to its closure. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Klamath Mountains and Mt. Eddy range.

This area is known as one of the Sacred Sites in this area. We next visit spectacular Castle Lake. Learn about Limnology, the study of the crystal clear water. We spend the second half of the tour on the mountain. We will explore the lower slopes of Mt. Shasta by driving Everitt Memorial Highway, the only paved road on Mt. Shasta. We’ll take short side trips to unique sites. We will continue and stop at Red Fir Flat. Learn about the Shasta Red Firs and visit Ascension Rock. We will continue to Bunny Flat, the main trailhead. If the road is open, we’ll go to the Old Ski Bowl.
