- Ston City Walls - Ston, a quaint town on the Peljesac Peninsula, is about an hour’s drive from Dubrovnik. It is celebrated for its remarkable defensive walls, built in the 14th century to safeguard the town from invaders. Stretching over five kilometers, these walls are the longest in Europe, attracting many visitors.
Besides the walls, Ston is also famous for its oysters and other seafood, freshly harvested from the nearby ocean. Several local restaurants offer these delicious, locally-sourced specialties.
Other attractions in Ston include the Saltworks Museum, which offers insights into the region’s salt production history, and the Franciscan Monastery, dating back to the 14th century, showcasing stunning Gothic architecture.
- Winery Rizman - Since 2006, 22 hectares of new vineyards and 1700 olive trees have been established at the new location of Croatia’s youngest winegrowing area, Komarna. The Komarna winegrowing area, where all producers are certified organic, was conceptualized and initiated by the family. In 2012, a winery was built that adheres to the highest technological standards for wine production on the vineyard’s grounds. At the vineyard, 90% of the vines are indigenous varieties, including Plavac mali and Pošip, along with the lesser-known Tribidrag. The winery is named Rizman in honor of the grandfather and great-grandfather, the family’s first winemaker.
