fun and informative - We usually don't visit zoos, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We spent all our time with the Australian animals and birds. The guides were very knowledgable and passionate about the animals and there are lots of signs with useful information. The layout of the zoo is interesting and the views are beautiful.

Awesome - We took our two young boys (1 and 3) and they loved every minute of it. Easily accessible with a stroller, apart from the inconsiderate “tourists” and so many things to see. Easily filled up n a full day and will go back again

Brilliant place, appeals to everyone young and old. - We really enjoyed our trip to the Zoo and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip. We took the ferry from Circular Quay, which was efficient and run regularly throughout the day. From the pier there are buses that run to take you to the main entrance. If you pre-book tickets you can get up to 20% off a family ticket, so well worth doing. The zoo itself is huge and covers a range of animals as you would expect. We headed straight to the Australia area to see those animals we have never seen anywhere else and were delighted to see so many. After finishing that area as our priority, we took in pretty much the rest of the Zoo. Allow a good 4 hours minimum to get around the whole place and take your time. Some of the inside areas with nocturnal creatures take a while for you to get used to the dark, but don't rush and you will be rewarded. You can pick up a map at the entrance and this outlines different feeding times etc, worthwhile just so you can speak to the really knowledgeable staff. And don't forget to eat! The main cage area is a fast food type takeaway which was mega crowded, so we went to the Saltwater Bistro which was sit-in and the food was great. Cannot recommend this place enough, and make sure you get some pictures of the views across the bay to the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and the rest of the city

A total washout , still a good way to spend a morning when at it's most quiet. - A very soggy time moving around the zoo today. Despite this crowds were very low only. Animals mostly hiding in warm spots. A few parts were closed off for maintenance. Despite that all a lovely way to spend a morning investigating wild life and animals from around the world. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful views of the Sydney Opera House from the Taronga Zoo - Getting there was super easy. We took the light rail from our hotel to Circular Quay and took the ferry over. There were multiple free buses that take you to the zoo. We took the bus back, it took longer but was easiest after a long day. We brought lunch to eat and many people did the same. Loved the zoo but many of the animals were not active and sleeping. Be ready to walk a lot.

Yes indeed - Dingos ✅️ Meerkats ✅️ Giraffes ✅️ Chicken! ✅️ Ssssssnake ✅️ Where were the other animals? Are they dead? Did taronga zoo eat them? Why did they go away? Does it make you sad to know that giraffes have million dollar habourside views, while you can't even afford to rent your cruddy, 1 room half bathroom tent in the outskirts of Sydney?

Did we go on “Zoo Half-closed Day”?!? - No Sky Safari, no elephants, no rhinos, no gorillas, no tigers…and yet TPZ was still happy to charge us the full price!?! Really mediocre offering from Australia’s putative premier zoo.
