Great day out with our amazing guide, Julius! - Great day out! The hot springs are a gorgeous spot to relax and chill out. The water is crystal clear and little fish nibble on the dead skin on your feet. The lunch we had at the village was delicious and the service was professional and friendly. It was a very easy trek to the waterfall and definitely worth the minimal effort. The waterfall is stunning, definitely one of the best I have ever saw. We also really enjoyed the coffee experience. Lovely little family who run it who serenaded us with songs. The coffee itself was the best I have ever tasted, smooth and delicious. The highlight of our trip was our guide, Julius! His English is perfect and he is a similar age to us so we had a great laugh the full day. There is a lot of driving on the trip and traffic can be bad but Julius is very friendly and chatty so we talked most of the journey which helped pass the time. I’d definitely recommend requesting to get Julius as your guide if you choose to book this trip! The only other advice I could give is try and leave in one of the earliest slots available. We chose 9am because we had came off the back of Kilimanjaro 2 days before so wanted to sleep it but we got stuck in the rush our traffic on the way out and way back in which made it a long day! So I’d probably recommend choosing 6am or 6.30am!

Great day with Owen, our guide - We absolutely loved this tour. We were 5 cousins on a family trip. Some of us had allergies, some were vegetarians, some were younger than others. This tour accomodated them all. Owen, our guide was superb! Thank you again, Owen. He explained everything about the coffee plantations, we tried Banana beer, went on a really nice hike, we had a great view on Mount Kilimandjaro on the road back from the hot springs and just overall had a great day! Thank you again!

Incredible tour to the Materouni waterfalls! - Our tour to the Materouni waterfalls was an unforgettable experience! Our guide Owen has made the tour very special with his incredibly good mood and extensive knowledge. The hike to the falls was breathtaking and absolutely worthwhile. After visiting the falls, we had the pleasure of tasting the traditional banana beer – a unique experience! The food was also excellent and rounded off this perfect day. We can highly recommend this tour and especially our guide Owen. Thank you for this wonderful time!

Amazing experience with Owen - We took a trip to Materuni waterfall, coffee tour and hot springs. We were scared because the forecast showed heavy rain all day, but they assured us it won't rain, and then they even got us raincoats for free. The tour was just amazing, you can come really close to the waterfall and take amazing pics. Coffee tour was as well great, you see the production of homemade coffee from scratch and you can buy it there as well. You can take a swim in hot springs which I recommend. But the most amazing thing of the tour was our guide, Owen. You can really see how much he loves what he does and you can feel that with his descriptions and stories about everything we pass by. We had a really great time with him, and if we ever come back and do some tours, we will certainly go with this agency and Owen! He took a lot of photos of us as well. I can't express how much of a good time we had with him. You should give this guy a raise! 😀 I recommend this tour with this guide 100/10 !

Wonderful experience - We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Owen. He contacted us the day before to confirm the pick-up time and provide additional information. The hike to the waterfall was manageable, though it was a bit slippery in places due to the wet conditions. Along the way, Owen provided extensive explanations about the nature and the village, which was very informative. ++ The communication with the tour guide was excellent. During the journey, it was nice to have the option to rest or engage in conversation. The (African) lunch provided was delicious. Everyone we met was very friendly. - - - There were no significant negatives. The only improvement could be to better prepare guests, especially for the hot springs (there are rocks in the river and small fish that may nip at you). - There are several opportunities where locals try to earn extra money, but it never felt intrusive. For instance, an extra person might join the hike, or someone might sell items during the coffee tour, or someone might swim or guide you at the river and take photos without being specifically asked. All these individuals expect and wait for a tip. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and the minor suggestions are just for enhancing the overall preparedness and experience for future guests.

This is a review that you must read if you choose this travel agency. - The reason I'm leaving a review is to share the worst trip we've ever had. First thing I'd like to say, they're crooks. We booked 11 people and the experience was only a six-hour drive, a cup of coffee in the coffee village, and we only got a 10% refund, and the driver tip paid an additional $40 or so. We checked their travel information on Viator, saw the 5-star review, and booked the last destination. I called them right after the reservation and made sure to let them know the name of the place we were staying and the time we had to arrive at the airport, and they confirmed that they would make a plan to finish all the schedules in six hours. The 11 of us met them at 6:30 a.m., and headed to the destination. While we were on our way to our destination, we searched about Kilimanjaro's Falls and found out that it was three hours away from our accommodation. So we suggested to our guide that it would be good to experience hot springs that are relatively close to the airport, eat, and take us to the airport. But their leader said that it would be better to see the falls and experience coffee. And he told us with confidence that he would be able to experience everything. We trusted them and gave up the hot spring an hour and a half away from the accommodation and accepted their offer. And we arrived at the coffee village a little over three hours after our departure. When they got there, they suddenly told us that they would not be able to go to the waterfall, that they would only look at the village here, have a cup of coffee and prepare a meal, so we should go to the airport immediately after eating. We were so dumbfounded that we had nothing to say. I found out that I had been deceived by them, but I had no choice but to look around the coffee village and see a primitive coffee drip show, buy only the coffee they sell, and then I had to go back to the airport without having lunch. We arrived 40 minutes before the flight time and complained to their team leader and asked for a refund. But they told us this. They've already paid the entrance fee to the village to get to the waterfall. And you've already completed the coffee experience. And, since your lunch was already ordered, we've already paid for it, and they said that the hot spring course is the cheapest course, so they can only return $125 back. And if I complain to Viator, he said there will be no refund because it's already past. We didn't have much time left on the plane, so we just got $125 from them and came back to Dar es Salaam. They made a bad memory at the end of our pleasant trip. I thought this was the information that people who choose this travel agency should know, so I wrote a review.
