A Warm Welcome to the Trails

As a mother of three, I am always on the lookout for activities that are both fun and educational for my children. When I heard about the Trail Adventures in Morrilton, I knew it was something we had to try. The idea of a 50-minute horseback ride through the scenic trails of Petit Jean Mountain sounded like the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff who immediately made us feel at ease. They took the time to introduce us to our horses and provided a brief but thorough “crash course” on horseback riding. This was particularly reassuring for my youngest, who was a bit nervous about the experience. The staff’s patience and attentiveness set the tone for what would be a memorable day.

Riding Through Nature’s Beauty

Once we were all comfortable with our horses, we set off on the trail. The ride was nothing short of magical. The sun was shining, and the gentle breeze carried the scent of wildflowers as we meandered through the winding paths. Our guide was exceptional, always keeping an eye on us and ensuring that everyone felt safe and secure.

The trail itself was a delightful mix of open fields and shaded woods, offering a variety of sights and sounds to keep the kids engaged. My eldest was particularly fascinated by the different bird species we encountered along the way, turning the ride into an impromptu nature lesson. It was a wonderful reminder of how travel can be both fun and educational, a theme I always strive to incorporate into our family adventures.

A Surprise at the Petting Zoo

After our ride, we were invited to visit the petting zoo, where the kids could feed and interact with the barnyard animals. This was a highlight for my children, who loved the chance to get up close with the animals. The young donkey, in particular, provided endless entertainment when he managed to escape his pen and caused a bit of chaos. While the staff may not have found it amusing, the kids and I couldn’t stop laughing at his antics.

The experience at the Trail Adventures was everything I hoped it would be and more. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and a little bit of adventure, making it a perfect family outing. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable way to spend time with their loved ones.
