High Atlas Mountains - The 4-day tour begins in Marrakech, with pick-up from your accommodation or the airport. The journey to the Dades Valley takes approximately 6 hours, with numerous stops to enjoy the scenery. The tour crosses the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tichka road, offering several stops to appreciate the stunning landscapes.
Ait Ben Haddou - The next stop is the renowned fortified village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a famous location for international films and series like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. After lunch en route, the tour continues through Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” home to Africa’s largest film studio.
Dades Gorges - The journey proceeds through the Roses Valley and the town of roses, with a stop in the Dades Valley to explore the unique rock formation known as Monkey Fingers. Overnight accommodation and dinner are provided at a Riad in the Dades Gorges.
Todgha Valley - Todgha Gorges - Erfoud - Sahara Desert
Todgha Gorge - On the second day, the tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert begins with a delicious Moroccan breakfast at the Riad. The destination is the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi, approximately 5 hours away, with several stops along the route. The first stop is Todgha Valley, with its ancient Kasbahs, followed by a short drive to the Todgha Gorges, a breathtaking canyon with refreshing weather and a river. A walk under the towering cliffs of Todgha is included.
Erg Chebbi - Leaving the gorges, the tour heads towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the Khataras of Jorf and Erfoud. Upon arrival in the desert, preparations for a camel ride begin. The camel ride crosses the golden dunes, with a stop to admire the stunning desert sunset from the high dunes. The journey continues to a desert camp for an overnight stay with locals. After a traditional dinner, enjoy a Berber party with fire and drum music under the stars.
Erg Chebbi - The Nomads - Khamlia - Merzouga
Erg Chebbi - On the third day, the tour focuses on exploring the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Watching the sunrise is a must-see experience. After breakfast at the camp, a 4x4 tour reveals the desert’s hidden treasures. The first visit is to the Nomads, who still live in traditional tents, offering tea and insights into their daily life. Next, the tour visits a French village called Miffis and a mining area where black hematite stone is extracted for crafts, necklaces, and bracelets.
Khamlia Gnawa Music - The tour continues to Khamlia village, inhabited by people originally from Mali and Sudan who have integrated with the desert locals. They perform a unique music style called Gnaoua. Lunch is likely in this town at a local restaurant, featuring a typical dish known as Berber pizza.
Merzouga - Afterward, the tour proceeds to the Riad/hotel for an overnight stay. The afternoon is free for optional activities such as ATV quads, buggy rides, or horse riding.
Ziz Valley - Cedar Forest of Monkeys - Ifrane - Fes
Errachidia - After breakfast, the final day’s destination is Fes, with an 8-hour drive. The first stop is the Ziz Valley, known for its palm trees and stretching 175 miles.
Cedar Forest - The tour passes through Zaabel Tunnel, the apple capital, and reaches the Cedar Forest, home to Barbarian monkeys. A stop here allows for interaction and feeding of the monkeys.
Ifrane - A brief stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its architecture, climate, and greenery, precedes the drive to Fes, Morocco’s oldest and second-largest city. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation in Fes, marking the end of the 4-day journey from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert.
