Middle Atlas - Guests will be collected from their hotel or Riad at approximately 7:30 am for an incredible journey into the Middle Atlas Mountains.

The first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, constructed by the French in the 1930s and often referred to as Morocco’s Switzerland. Following this, travelers will pass through the expansive cedar forests near the Berber village of Azrou, known as The Rock in the local Berber language, where the renowned Barbary apes, actually macaque monkeys, may try to share your lunch in their natural environment.

Continuing through the Atlas Mountains, which are said to support the sky, the route winds through forested peaks, twisting mountain streams, springs, and impressive, rugged rock formations.

Midelt - After an exhilarating morning in the Middle Atlas Mountains, lunch will be enjoyed in the city of Midelt, also known as the City of Apples. This city is situated at the end of the Middle Atlas Mountains and the start of the High Atlas, offering a unique charm amidst the mountains.

Ziz Valley View - After delving deep into the Atlas Mountains and observing the Berber communities along the way, it’s time to arrive at Africa’s largest oasis, the Ziz Valley. Here, a breathtaking view awaits where palm trees and mountains meet, divided by the powerful Ziz River, one of the largest rivers in the area.

Merzouga Desert - The journey continues towards Merzouga, with a stop along the way to enjoy panoramic views of a vast palm tree oasis. Arrival in Merzouga is in the afternoon, followed by dinner with Saharan music and an overnight stay in a traditional Kasbah.

Merzouga - Guests can choose to sleep in or rise early to witness the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, the day can be spent exploring the desert surrounding Merzouga at leisure.

Possible activities include:

• Visiting the historical towns and palm groves around the Tafilalt Oasis (Rissani, Merzouga)
• Visiting Khamlia village to experience Gnawa music, or relaxing around the desert tents

In the late afternoon, once the day’s heat has diminished, a camel trek will lead to a Berber campsite in the heart of the sand dunes, far removed from worldly concerns. Here, Berber hosts will prepare traditional desert meals, such as a delightful dish called Madfona, and guests may have the opportunity to taste camel’s milk while learning about their culture. The evening can be spent around the campfire, exploring the desert, or lying on a sand dune to stargaze.

Merzouga - Erfoud - Midelt - Fes

Fes - After a magical night in the desert camp, it’s time to prepare for the return journey to Fes. Before departing, guests are encouraged to wake early to enjoy the world’s best sunrise over the sand dunes. Following this, they can return to the camp for a refreshing bath, gather their belongings, and then embark on the return trip to Fes with their driver.
