An Unforgettable 4-Day Journey! - Our 4-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga was an absolute highlight of our travels, and it was entirely due to our fantastic guide, Aziz. From the very beginning, the planning was impeccable. Aziz curated a perfect itinerary that balanced travel time with breathtaking stops, ensuring we never felt rushed. Whether it was discovering hidden gems along the route, choosing the best scenic photo spots, or timing our breaks perfectly, he made the long drive feel like an engaging part of the adventure rather than just transit. Aziz’s deep knowledge of the region and his thoughtful approach to every stop added so much value to the experience. If you are looking for a reliable, professional, and genuinely welcoming guide in Morocco, look no further. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

4 Days Better Than Just 3 - The tour is a great way to experience life in Morocco outside of the major cities as well have sufficient time to enjoy the Sahara Desert. The extra day (4 vs 3) is worth it as everyone doing the 3 day tour leaves super early the next morning (around 6 am) after only spending half a day there (afternoon and night). The extra day gives time to relax in the desert and to truly take in the experience. A plus was that once everyone else left there was only 6 of us left in the desert. Medhi was our guide and he was excellent!

Amaizing 4 days - Our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and back was absolutely unforgettable and truly the highlight of our trip to Morocco! From the very first moment, everything was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations. We crossed the spectacular High Atlas Mountains with breathtaking panoramic views, visited charming Berber villages, and stopped at the incredible Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site full of history and beauty. Every part of the journey offered amazing landscapes and unforgettable moments. One of the most magical parts of the trip was the camel ride in the Sahara Desert. Riding camels through the golden dunes of Merzouga during sunset was an incredible and peaceful experience. The views were breathtaking, and it truly felt like being in another world. Watching the colors of the dunes change with the sunset made the moment unforgettable. Spending the night in the desert camp under a sky full of stars, enjoying traditional Berber music around the fire, and waking up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes was simply amazing. We also explored the stunning Todra Gorge and many beautiful places along the way. The transport was comfortable, the accommodations were excellent, and the atmosphere during the entire tour was friendly, fun, and authentic. A huge thank you to our guide Hamid Ousaadan, who made this experience even more special with his kindness, professionalism, knowledge, and positive energy. He was always helpful, attentive, and made everyone feel welcome throughout the trip. We also want to thank Discover Sahara Tours for the excellent organization and outstanding service. Everything was perfectly planned, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Morocco and looking for an authentic adventure filled with culture, beautiful landscapes, unforgettable memories, and the magic of the Sahara Desert. 🌍🐪✨

Stunning tour with a great team - An awesome tour! From Aït Benhaddou to the Dades Valley, and from the Todra Gorge to the Sahara desert, we visited so many gorgeous places. The extra night in the desert was totally worth it. Our guide, Ridouan, was knowledgeable and fun, and made us feel super welcome. Plus he provided an excellent soundtrack for our trip. Thanks so much, Ridouan!

Amazing landscape and terrific guides - This is a great tour for those willing to endure the long car ride. Although long, we had a wonderful guide (𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓) and driver (Ishem). The landscape was interesting and we enjoyed the brief stops. Staying the 2nd night at the desert camp was well worth it.

A little "touristy" feel but very good experience overall - A very nice trip overall, with minor downsides. Apart from the scenic landscapes, you get to see cultural elements of Morocco outside the big cities. On the way to the desert, we visited Ait Ben Haddou (a village on an old caravan route that is a Unesco world heritage site) and the Dades Gorges. I loved the regional architecture. We visited several local artisans and coops who explain to you their art. Their incentive is clearly business, but you are totally free to walk away without buying anything. The desert was a great experience. The sand dunes and camel riding are real. In contrast to the shorter 3-day tour, we got to spend a full day in the desert which we thought was really worth it, mainly for the slow-paced visit to the Berber camp of former nomads and secondarily for the visit to a mine site. The main downside I saw was that, apart from the full day at the desert which fewer people do, it felt like a pretty streamlined, medium-scale tourist business (must have been going on for a long time). There are many groups visiting the same places, everyone knows what time the tourists arrive, the camels are there just for the tourist rides, the desert camp where we stayed was one of ten or so similar glamping sites in a one kilometer radius that had been built to accommodate these tours, and so on. That said, I got the feeling that the company does care about creating a nice experience, not just making money, and all the people working (as guides, at the camps, camel rides, etc.) were really nice and helpful. Shoutout to our driver Ridouan for making it a better experience and to our guide in the desert Hamid.

4-day Sahara tour, absolutely worth it but read this first - The dunes at Merzouga are genuinely beyond description. Better than any photo, better than any expectation. Walking and running freely through the Sahara in silence is such a beautiful experience. Our guides Atman and Ahmed were excellent, warm, attentive and always making sure we were looked after. When we didn’t want to ride camels to camp they arranged a jeep alternative. First hotel was great!! Amazing views in the valley. Accommodation at the desert camp was good given we were in the middle of the Sahara, running water was a pleasant surprise (don't expect the water pressure to be good though 🤣). Food at camp was decent, lunch stops along the route were enjoyable and fairly priced, given the remoteness. Honest feedback for the organizers: the driving days are too long and overstuffed with unnecessary stops. The Atlas panoramic viewpoints and Aït Benhaddou are worth it, but stops like argan oil demonstrations and rose plantations feel completely disconnected from why anyone books a desert tour. Most people would rather drive faster and relax at the accommodation. Also, the day-three jeep excursion takes you away from the dunes, which is the entire reason everyone is there. Keep activities in the desert, not outside it. (the best part was driving and drifting in the dunes with the jeep, thank you Ahmed!) One non-negotiable piece of advice: book 4 days not 3. Travelling this far to spend only 12 hours at camp makes no sense when you’ll be sleeping for most of it. Another tip: buy A LOT of water at the last stop before the desert! Despite the organisational quirks, Atman and Ahmed are great and the dunes deliver on every promise. Highly recommended.
