"Essential" tour a great intro to Montreal - On a cold, rainy day in mid-May, this tour lived up to its reputation. Danny, our tour guide and apparent co-owner of the tour company, was terrific. Beside his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Montreal, Danny was friendly and personable, and did the whole tour in English given our mostly American group. Our group was limited to 10 people as specified, so there was no need for hearing-aid boxes or time wasted waiting for stragglers. We were grateful that the tour included half a dozen indoor stops, including the Notre Dame cathedral (admission included in the tour price), the underground, and two cafes where we stopped for coffee and a snack, also included. This was our first activity after arriving in Montreal the previous evening, and well worth the price, despite the weather. It was a great way to start our visit to the city.

Fun Time with Fred--and we learned a lot! - Our tour guide, "Fred" (Frederique), let us know that we were her first group after her certification. She did amazing! Very personable, fun and energetic and, above all, knowledgeable. We definitely appreciated the history, funny stories, coffee break and the treat! Fred left us with the suggestions for local food and drink, BONUS! Fred, Well Done!

A quick way to get acquanted with the history & vibe of Montreal - Melanie was fabulous! She knew her history and also tied it into modern day Montreal. She had a great sense of humor and had fun interacting with our group which made it that much more enjoyable. We like seeing both historic sights and more contemporary aspects of the city (murals, vintage clothing). There was something for everyone. The tip sheet after the tour was an excellent resource. Absolutely recommend!

Great example of Montréal for day one visitors - Danny was great! Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Took us to some gems we would never had considered or seen otherwise. Great to see old and new juxtaposed and how things came about. A great sampling of a wonderful city that made us excited to be here. If you don’t know what to do when you’re in Montréal, this is a good primer. Conditions for those who worry: Walking was pretty steady paced and moderate. Not for the lazy or anyone with leg or hip mobility issues. A few sets of stairs down, escalators up. One decent uphill walk that will wind out-of-shape people, but still doable. Probably about 10,000 steps or so on an app? Bathroom breaks were about every hour (but offered more if needed), had a snack halfway thru but nothing to drink until near the end, so bring water. We went in light rain and it was fine because we had rain jackets and waterproof shoes. In and out of buildings, so some was sheltered. Great if you prepare just a little. Highly recommend!
