Fantastic experience for soaking up some history and some sunscreen - Had an absolute blast! Lovely guide who was clearly passionate about the history of the city and its many attractions. Would recommend to anyone who can ride a bike. Make sure you bring sunscreen though - I was very nearly bright red by the end of the day!!

Montevideo Bike Ride - Guide was very knowledgeable and bike riding through the City plazas was very beautiful. The Rambla is along the sea and we rodé on the bike path along the Rambla all the way to the light house.

Very informative and fun ride through town - Learned a lot about Montevideo and its history, all while enjoying a bike ride through the town. One of the brakes on one of our bikes broke partway through, so I would suggest double checking your bike before using it. Otherwise it was a great experience, would definitely recommend it if you have the time.

Great tour but old bikes - The tour guide (Edith?) was very good and knew a lot about Montevideo. We started out by making short rides between stops and the bikes did ok. But then we started on a much longer ride along La Rambla to the light house and my bike could no longer keep up. I did not expect such a long ride on a bike that was not up to the task. She was wonderful and slowed down but I think some bike maintenance is needed.

Great guide, bikes not very good - Edith was a perfect guide sharing a lot of good insights in the country, political and history . Quality of the hikes was very disappointing.

I found the bike trip well worth doing - Postive: guide (Edith) tries to make sure everyone is accomodated. Well planned route and comments. Also, I think the company tries to do a good job - hustles to get bikes out, and to make the location to meet/pick them up easy to find. Negative: If you dont ride bikes often, the seat is very hard. If gel cushions could be provided, it would be a big help. I did not find the bike too heavy or rusty as some previous people commented. FYI - the 'turn around point' was the lighthouse. They let me continue up the Rambla 3 more kilometers and leave the bike at my hotel the Hyatt Centric, to be picked up by them later. That is where the MONTEVIDEO letters are. This was nice, as it saved me $16 Uber comfort fare and I'd had enough time on the hard seat.

Poorly planned and boring - Poorly designed tour without real thought around planning the route and information to be shared. The whole city was reconstructed so the old town isn’t worth much time. We went to 3 squares and only one worth the stop. We started 20+ minutes late as she insisted on waiting for a tourist who wasn’t responding. Then another 20 minute wait as the first stop as he was perpetually “3 minutes away”. The tour was meant to be 2 hours and at 1 hour 45 mins in we had barely moved 300m. The guide seemed unprepared and seemed to be thinking of things to say including a long speech about a plaque she thought could be improved. She offered to tailor the tour for our interest and at this point I took her up on the offer and asked if we could get a summary version so we don’t run over (we inevitably wouldn’t finish on time). She got really offended which was a strange reaction. She didn’t make eye contact for the rest of the tour and barely spoke (which makes running a guided tour a challenge). She then took us down the promenade riding for 30 mins straight. She didn’t even turn around let alone check we were ok. Then stopped very briefly to point to a beach and building. Then off again for another 15-20 to point to a lighthouse and a hill. Petty reaction for a perceived slight? It was very confusing. Tour guide aside the tour is just not worth it. For the history you’re better off going to a museum as the rebuilt city doesn’t give useful context. If you like cycling, hire a bike and go down the coast yourself. It’s an easy city to navigate. Skip the tour and enjoy the city, which is well worth it
