Great Night Hike - My husband and I booked a private tour for this night hike and it was well worth it. Our guide was able to show us many things and help us get some amazing pictures. Wear comfortable shoes, long sleeves, pants and be ready to hike.

Great night trip in Monteverde - A highly recommended tour, especially with Rolando who showed great professionalism, attention and friendliness. He showed us, on our first night route, a great variety of nightlife such as snakes, spiders, a sloth and her calf, a couple of quetzals, frogs, etc. And on top of that he helped us take pictures with the telescope and the cell phone. Fantastic excursion.

Guide to 10 and spectacular surroundings - I have done many tours, excursions, visits... but I think this is the time I have seen such an outstanding guide of the whole group, wanting us to see and learn as much as possible, making it easier for all of us to see live as many animals as possible, as well as take souvenir photos and videos. We were delighted with the cloud forest, but it would not have been possible to enjoy the experience as much if it had not been for Rolo. Thank you very much, really, it has been an insurmountable experience.

Walk essential! - We did this tour with Rolo, amazing hike but much more the Guide, explaining everything every moment in getting involved so that the experience was the best possible. Fully recommended and thank you very much to Rolo in particular for his work!!

A high-level visit - We could see all the animals I expected it became enjoyable and very interesting. Sloths, toucans, glowing quezal, dumb bird, snakes...

Great Guide, But Not the Peaceful Experience We Hoped For - We were really looking forward to this night tour and had a mix of experiences. On the positive side, our guide Antonio was fantastic—clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about the forest and its wildlife, which we really appreciated. However, the overall atmosphere didn’t quite match our expectations. The trails were quite crowded, with multiple groups starting at the same time and often bunching up in the same spots. Unfortunately, we happened to visit on an evening when very loud music—live band and/or karaoke—was playing nearby (22nd of April 2025). This significantly affected the experience, not just for us, but likely for the wildlife too. It was difficult to fully enjoy the natural sounds of the forest, which was one of the main reasons we came. With so many people using flashlights, talking, and moving around, it felt more like a themed event than a quiet, immersive nature experience. We think the experience could be much improved if there were more emphasis on maintaining quiet—from both kids and adults—so that everyone has a better chance to enjoy the peace and wonder of the night forest. All in all, there’s definitely potential here, especially with such great guides, but the setting and group management made it hard to truly connect with the environment.
