Great expedition - We bought our tickets early, and the sign in process was fast and easy. The deck hand, was on top of everything happening on the boat,(he had his hands full, with needy customers). Both he and the captain was very professional. The Captain of the boat (Star of Monterey) really knew how to operate the boat, as well as having a plethora of information about the marine life, and the continental shelf information. Highly recommend this group if you’re looking for an informed and safe trip.

At Sea in Monterey, California - It was a great experience. I took my six-year-old son and my really good friend came along. The weather was cold so dress warm. Bring stuff to help you fight motion sickness and nausea; remember stay outside and look far off into the horizon. I didn’t anticipate being nauseated and I and my son were both nauseated for a bit. Grateful to some other women who had spare gum. It’s a small boat so I suggest only bringing the things you need. It was beautiful. The weather was beautiful. We saw dolphins. We saw two different types of dolphins. And there were humpback whales, but they didn’t breach. I feel like a couple of them spun over maybe once or twice it was wonderful and my son was so stoked to see the animals. I’ll definitely do it again.

Great day on the water - It was great! We saw three Gray whales and at least half a dozen dolphins. It was very exciting because we got pretty close to them and you really see how massive they are. The dolphins were very playful and fun to watch.

Adventure - It requires patience. But I enjoyed the adventure. The sound of the waves and the cool breeze was very relaxing

Fantastic Day! - We saw so many whales! It was amazing and the crew was great, pointing out animals and points of interest. It was chilly on the water in the morning but warmed up.

Lots of whales & sights to see!! - So great! We went on our honeymoon and saw multiple different types of whales, including orcas!!! We could see jellyfish in the water and passed many seals. I got seasick unfortunately but besides the nausea everything else was very enjoyable. One of the guys on the crew passed my husband a ginger drop for me to take which I thought was sweet! It ended up helping my stomach a lot too! 10/10

Exciting experience! - The tour was an exciting experience and we could see some whales. The captain tried to give us a good view of the animals while still keeping a reasonable distance from the whales. We'll be back!

Whale watching - Be happy if you see whales- the captain gave points of interest. We saw grey and humpback whales, limited sightings but that’s how it goes. I would recommend it and enjoy the excitement when they appear as we did..

Great Family Time - It was great, a ot of dizzy people. The sound was not the best, inside no sound. The captain was a very helpful person.

HORRIBLE - Horribly disappointed with the company. We have booked one day or whale watching and a second day of deep sea fishing, months in advance. This was a wish trip for our nine year old son who completed 3.5 years of cancer treatment. Upon arriving for whale watching, we were first told there was no reservation for us. We were then told that they had cancelled the fishing trip and had “been trying to get a hold of us.” Funny that there had been no calls, texts, or messages to me or the travel agent who had booked everything. Yet suddenly, at the exact moment we were there, they sent a cancellation email. We were told they “didn’t have a boat” and could we go on Friday. We explained we were leaving Friday and that this was a special trip. Isn’t it their JOB to make sure there’s a boat when a reservation for four people is made six months in advance? We were then told to “go see if there’s another company who could do it.” Wouldn’t etiquette dictate that THEY should help us find another company to help rectify the situation? There was ZERO help, they acted annoyed and rude with the whole situation. Poor service, poor attitude, and for what had been paid….there are many other whale watching companies there on the pier that would have likely welcomed our business. The captain of the boat was also rude when our little boy asked to use the bathroom and flat out said no. When our little boy then asked the helper where could in fact go, the helper immediately took him to the same bathroom the captain had just said no to. The captain was rude to other customers also. I’d avoid this company and will not recommend it to our other friends traveling to Monterey next month.
