Tasting Tour in One of The Most Beautiful Cellars in the World

Journeying to this Cellar is like stepping back in time. It embodies the bounty of the beautiful Tuscan soil - wine. This wine, deeply revered and cherished, was joyously drank and tended to with enthusiasm and resolve by our forebears, the Etruscans, several centuries before the Christian era.

History in a glass - truly wonderful experience. - What the brief doesn't tell you is that you are experiencing a phenemonal part of history right in centre of Montepulciano. I won't be a spoiler as the history is worth hearing from the people themselves. What a truly enjoyable and informative experience. The storytelling of the De Ricci family history by Emilio was heartfelt and with lots of humour. The wines were truly delicious and how they have had to adapt to climate change was so reassuring. This is by far one of the best wine tasting experiences I have had. When drinking SorAldo, it felt like I was drinking history in a glass.

A must do experience! - The wine tasting started with a tour in one of the few wine cellars in Montepulciano. Here you get to hear the history of the family who owned the wine cellar and also a little funny story on how the people of Montepulciano defended themself from sieges from the outside. The tasting afterwards was very nice! We get to taste 6 different wines with a small platter of local products. I recommend this to everyone who stays in the area of Montepulciano.

Amazing Underground Wine Cellar in Montepulciano - Loved hearing the history of the wine and how it is made. Being down under ground in the caves where the wine is aged is amazing. The wine tasting was also wonderful and very informative!

Disappointing for the money - It was a very quick tour for the price we paid, did get to try very small amounts of wine, then was just given a selling speech to buy the wine! I have been to far better wine tours in other countries

Felt like cattle - The wine cellar itself was incredibly cool…..both literally and figuratively! The guide we had was hard to hear due to the fact that the different tour groups were not spaced out We felt like cattle going through with one group ahead of us and one right behind us. The wine tasting at the end was enjoyable!

Unreliable operator. - Operator cancelled 24 h before the tasting. Extremely disappointing as our week was planned around this and it was too late to book something else.
