Experiencing Old Mombasa through eyes of seasoned guide - Hello all, first of all this was first trip to Kenya and I made sure to visit Fort Jesus of Mombasa. My colleague had recommended for a guide if I intend to visit this fort. Yeah and there I met this energetic and amazing guy Humphrey. At first I felt odd, since it was new place and people as well. But as Humphrey walked me through each part of the fort and explained the history. He took me into the past and was able to visualise how the Fort Jesus would have been at that time. Totally a marvelous experience this with him. To my surprise he also guided me along Old Town Mombasa. It was like we are back in past using the time machine. Finally for those who want explore these two places, I definitely recommend this friendly guy. Also he took my photos for memories to cherish. P.S. I treated him with Masala tea at Camel's joint located near by...

An Unforgettable Tour of Old Town and Fort Jesus! - An Unforgettable Tour of Old Town and Fort Jesus! We had an incredible experience touring Old Town and Fort Jesus in Mombasa on April 12. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating stories that brought the history of the area to life. As we wandered through the narrow, colorful streets of Old Town, our guide pointed out beautiful architecture, hidden gems, and shared insights about the cultural melting pot that makes Mombasa so unique. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen and allowed us to really soak in the atmosphere. At Fort Jesus, the guide’s passion for history truly shone through. He made the centuries-old fort come alive with vivid explanations of its Portuguese origins, the battles fought there, and its importance to Mombasa’s history. He answered all our questions with patience and depth, making it both educational and incredibly entertaining. The pacing was perfect — not rushed, but never dragging — and the guide even recommended some fantastic local spots for food and souvenirs afterward. If you’re visiting Mombasa and want an authentic, enriching experience, I highly recommend booking a tour with this guide. It was a highlight of our trip!

Fantastic Introduction to Mombasa - We learned so much about Mombasa from Humphrey! He gave a great summary of Mombasa's history and showed us key old town sites, some of which would have been difficult to even find on our own. We highly recommend this tour.

Mombassa Tour with Humphrey - 5 Star - Humphrey is a legend - his walking tour of Fort Jesus and Old Town Mombassa was full of great information and, of course, history of Fort Jesus/ Old Town and Mombassa in general. The tour was thorough, with pause/ refreshment points (where needed in the heat of Mombassa Town). As there were only two of us (Private Tour), we were also very fortunate to experience a tuk-tuk drive through the streets of Old Town to take us to the Spice Market. Great discussions had throughout. I also need to mention that Humphrey is an ace photographer - took some lovely photo's of myself and partner to cherish the memory of our Mombassa trip.
