Balsamico production on the country - Very educational visit at really friendly family business who with great pride presented their balsamico and dedicated us to the years-long process that it requires for a D.O.P. Balsamico. After visiting the ceiling where the production takes place, there were generous and extremely delicious tastes. It was great that there was the possibility to use shuttle to and from Modena - the owner picked us up, so we had a good talk about the production along the way.

Treated like family! - Only great things to say about this experience! Communication and the free shuttle service from Giorgio was amazing and made the experience accessible. Their estate is beautiful and having coffee in their courtyard was a relaxing way to start the tour. The lesson on Traditional Balsamic Vinegar production was easy to understand as it was provided in English with pictures to help visualize the process. The tour continued with the visit to the barrel room where differences in aging is demonstrated and then it’s time for the tasting! All of the foods at the tasting were so good and only enhanced by adding their balsamic vinegar. They were also kind enough to provide Lambrusco to pair with it. This experience is so worth it! Everyone was extremely friendly, felt like one happy family!

Highlight of our stay - We had the best experience!! We came by train and had opted to use their shuttle service, all prompt and at the meeting point. The whole environment is stunning- the business is based in the traditional family home and you are invited on arrival to have a drink in their beautiful garden. The tour was conducted brilliantly by Martina and is a comprehensive insight into the history and essentials of the far superior DOP balsamic vinegar. We got to see original barrels in the loft and to examine and smell the differences in the ageing process. The coup de grace was the tasting menu where we were asked to pair the 12 yr and the 25yr vinegar with a variety of foods, including risotto cake, all cooked with care. It was a fabulous experience and many thanks to the caring staff. It was a privilege to be with people so passionate about their craft.

Personal and lively tour of a balsamic vinegar cellar in the gorgeous country side outside of Modena. - This was a very informative and interesting tour. You will learn about of process of making balsamic vinegar, about the history of the family and their gorgeous house. Finally there is a tasting of food with different cheeses, omelette and also ricotta cake paired with two types of balsamic vinegar. My guide Elena was lovely and very well prepared. Her English was outstanding. There was also a shuttle service from the train station in Modena as the place is outside in the country side. Lovely experience and so worth !

A most pleasing and informstive experience! - My visit was a very pleasing and informstive experience. To me, visiting a locally owned and operated as a family business is the best experience. I was welcomed into the family house and treated like family and was able to meet some of the family. The presentation was well done and I now feel fully educated on how labor intensive and time consuming the process of producing real basalmic vinegar is. The tasting and final sit down and consume basalmic vinegar on a wide selection of snacks was phenominal!

Very Highly Recommended - Visiting this balsamic farm & the owners home, the knowledge of the guide & the fabulous tasting was fantastic. It was incredible value for money and it was a bonus being picked up from Modena train station (by the owner for €10) as he was engaging and informative. If you’d like to do a balsamic vinegar tasting, I highly recommend this one as it’s perfect and you’ll leave with a much better appreciation for balsamic vinegar.

Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale Rocks!! - A far more interesting tour than you might expect! We really enjoyed ourselves and wish we did the longer “Lunch and Tasting” version that Giorgio’s family offers. The balsamic aging process is quite interesting and we found ourselves using the knowledge gained throughout the rest of our trip in Italy. We were promptly picked up at the train station and taken to the estate where we received a crash course in traditional balsamic vinegar, saw the battery of barrels, and enjoyed tastings paired with food. We ended up purchasing one extra vecchio bottle on site and regret not buying more!

A great lesson in traditional balsamic vinegar - The place is a family-run « acetaia » since 1905. The guide, Elena, was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the whole process of making balsamic vinegar. We met with the owner and he too was quite knowledgeable and explain the difference in 12 year old vs 25 year old balsamic vinegar. We sampled different foods with both vinegars. It was a very pleasant experience! Highly recommended.
