A FANTASTIC HALF DAY! - This was a highlight of my trip! Captain Barnebe really hooked us up. Juma and Ochu were our guides and I can't say enough good about them. It's was a small boat that held our 2 guides and then 7 of us guests. They had water for us and snorkeling gear. We saw pods of dolphins on the way to Mnemba Island and the waves were beautiful! Some people jumped in to see the dolphins swim by. We went snorkeling at Mnemba Island and saw lots of beautiful colorful fish. Loved that! Then, we went to a sandbar on the opposite side of the island. Beautiful white sand and shallow waters. We all just walked around, photo ops, made sand castles, and ate fresh fruit that Juma and Ochu had for us. On the way back we stopped to look at star fish; so colorful. It was a fun way to spend half a day on the beautiful Indian Ocean. Thanks, guys!!

Very nice - Very nice contact, we were picked up by the captain and Nemo directly on the beach of the hotel as our hotel is in Nungwi. The boat tour was truly breathtaking! We saw a lot of dolphins, jumped in more often and stayed longer than the other boats. Snorkeling in the reef was really great too! We really chose the right boat thanks to Viator. Thank you for the great time!

Great tour and tour company but bitter aftertaste - Great tour and experience, we saw a big school of dolphins and also enjoyed the snorkeling (although the snorkeling area around Mnemba is extremely busy). However, the swimming with the dolphins left us with the feeling that we’ve done something wrong. There were 11 boats chasing and surrounding the dolphins and people jumping from all the boats to get as close as possible, and we have zero doubts that this must have stressed the animals a lot. Leaving 5 stars for the sake of the tour operator Captain Barnabas which we also enjoyed another snorkeling trip with to Tumbatu island with great guides and serving of fresh fruits. But hoping that the various tours operators will rethink how the dolphin excursion can be done more ethically, if not abandoned, and that Viator and Tripadvisor will stop advertising tours that lead to (potential) animal cruelty.

Awesome experience - Awesome experience. Efficient collection from driver and lovely and friendly journey. Great captain and staff all round felt comfortable and had a great experience seeing dozens of dolphins within a touching distance. Topped off by a nice snack on a private beach and great views of Zanzi and Mnemba on the way. Would return !

Magical Day at Sea - Captain Barnaba was a professional and reputable company to use to go snorkeling and witness the dolphins swimming near Mnemba. After researching other companies in the area and reading reviews mentioning the ethics behind swimming with the the dolphins I was hesitant to book, but our captains Makame and Juma made the entire experience safe for us and the dolphins. There are a lot of boats going to the same area to see the dolphins and then everyone jumps out into the water to watch them swim under water. Makame and Juma were careful with where they drove the boat so as not to overcrowd the dolphins as well as avoid possible injury the tourists from the boat motor (we noticed a lot of other boats getting scarily close to swimmers with the motor still running). Because they allowed us and the dolphins plenty of space that meant that we weren’t able to jump in at every possible chance to see them, but Makame and Juma didn’t leave the dolphin’s area until everyone on the boat was satisfied. As a side note, I am not a strong swimmer, and Juma offered a life jacket and to swim near me so I can safely see the dolphins. Next we went onto the snorkeling area. The water is so clear you can see the fish just from sitting in the boat. This is probably the best snorkeling experience I’ve ever had. The coral is so beautiful and the fish are so plentiful they literally swim into you. Again we did not leave this area until Juma and Makame confirmed we all had our fill. Our final stop was the sand bar where they cut up the most delicious, and sweet fresh fruit. The tour says 4 hours but there is absolutely no rush to see everything so you definitely get your moneys worth. They also picked us up and dropped us off by boat in front of our hotel. As a side note I brought my GoPro and Juma offered to take a few videos for us, allowing us to just relax and enjoy everything, and capturing better footage than I ever could’ve.

Fantastic 4 Hour Tour with Dolphins, Sandbank and Snorkeling - Great way to spend 4 hours in Zanzibar. We did so much it felt like a full day tour but it never felt rushed. Guides took tons of photos and videos for everyone. Swimming with dolphins was amazing and the sandbank by Mnemba Island was stunning. Definitely recommend!

Lovely friendly staff and wonderfully snorkelling - Communication was excellent. Very kind and friendly staff. Managed to swim with dolphins - all be it briefly. Sea was a bit choppy at times so perhaps not for people who get sea sick ( which my daughter did). Lovely fresh fruit and wonderful snorkelling. Lovey fish and very clear water. Lots of other boats around but did not detract from seeing all the fish. DH was our guide and he and the driver were very attentive. We felt safe and life jackets available if needed.
