Downtown Missoula Hidden Business/History Gems - I had such a great tour experience! I had worked downtown for a few years but had no idea about some of the shops in the area and the cool history behind them. Would definitely recommend this fun and informative tour - and be sure to book out enough time for local shopping! :)

A Must-Do in Missoula – Even for Locals! - I recently went on the Guided Shopping & History Tour with Local Missoula Walking Tours, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Maddie, our guide, was absolutely wonderful , she was personable, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the city’s history and the shops we visited. Even as locals, my mom, grandmother, and I learned so much and discovered boutiques we’d never been in before. Maddie kept things fun and conversational, always ready with an anecdote or quick historical reference that tied our stories right back into Missoula’s rich past. The tour combined local history and shopping seamlessly. We explored beautifully curated shops with deep roots in the community and were warmly welcomed by kind staff in each location. We never felt rushed, there was plenty of time to browse, shop, and even try on clothing. The discounts offered were generous and definitely encouraged us to treat ourselves (shoutout to Mood Boutique, where I found a gorgeous and affordable dress!). It was such a joy to support small businesses while also learning about the architecture, art installations and backstory of the downtown buildings we often overlooked! The walking route was just right, about 0.75 miles, but it felt like we covered so much ground. The experience was relaxed and accessible, truly something for all ages (three generations of us loved it!). Between the mix of history, shopping, and community spirit, the whole tour felt purposeful and intentional, like getting a backstage pass to the heart of Missoula! This is something I would absolutely recommend to family and friends coming to town, and locals. It’s a brilliant way to rediscover the city, support local businesses, and learn more about the town we love. Maddie is your go-to gal for this kind of tour, you’ll leave with many bags in your hands and stories you won't be able to stop sharing.

Shopping/History tour is AMAZING!!! - The Shopping, History tour was absolutely amazing! Having been born in Missoula, and living there as a child, our tour guide, Maddie, was phenomenal - we learned so much about the rich history of Missoula, MT - while getting to stop and browse some amazing locally owned stores along the way. I left with a beautiful gold cuff bracelet from an amazing local artisan, Madeleine Ford from Riverbed Gems. Highly recommend taking the time for this tour. Time well spent and you won’t regret it!
