Hats Off to the Minneapolis Trolley! - I grew up in western PA near Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood so I love trolleys! That said, touring Minneapolis with my two teen granddaughters in an old-timey trolley was their idea, and we all loved it. We were welcomed aboard by a friendly “pup” and his human who excelled as our enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining driver/guide. We learned about the city’s unique history, varied architecture, innovative park system, useful skyway system, and the trolley’s history itself. A nod to today’s technology by showing period images on a screen to help us visualize and understand the city’s past was perfectly utilized. Being my first visit, and a senior, I was anticipating seeing the home and downtown statue of Minneapolis’ hat tossing, made the world smile with love all around, 1970’s role model, and I wasn’t too surprised after passing by these iconic places when my reality TV and sports TV watching Grands’ remarked, “Mary Tyler who”. But, should they in the future happen to catch an episode, they will have the lasting memory of their weekend trip to Minneapolis, on a chilly March morning, on a fun trolley, with a fantastic guide, and me.

What Minneapolis has been missing - They were so knowledgeable and fun! We can’t wait to be back in the area to do the other tours! This tour was on par with tours we have taken in New Orleans and Savannah!

5 Star Tour - John provided an outstanding scenic tour for me and my family this cold morning. I have taken many trolley tours in various cities but, hands down, this was the best. We were greeted warmly by John upon our arrival. He directed us to Norman who checked us in. Norman was in the carriage house which was worthy of its own tour. Then we boarded the trolly. We requested that Madonna accompany us on our tour. Madonna is a beloved four footed family member of John and Norman. The trolly is beautifully appointed with period decor which was very apropos for our historic downtown tour. I would happily join him anytime for a future tour. Johns knowledge and love of the city is evident in his presentation!!!

Family outing - Wow! Such an informative and enthusiastic guide who has a real heart for all things Minneapolis! From being warmly greeted as we stepped out of our car to being dropped back off at the end of the tour, John shared a wealth of knowledge with us. This included a convenient screen to follow along with great photos, allowing for questions and giving additional tidbits of interest AND the bonus of his 13 year old Great Dane, Madonna, joining us (at our request). Will most definitely return for another of their interesting themed tours. A perfect way to spend a very cold Minneapolis day ‘out and about’ while staying warm and having a fun day. My mother (83, from Mississippi) myself (60, from Birmingham, AL) and my daughter, (29, now living here) equally enjoyed this weekend morning learning so much about this city of parks and lakes.

A Trolley Tour to be remembered - My husband and I flew to the historic city of Minneapolis for a wedding. As the city is known for its colorful history we were intrigued to find that the Minneapolis Trolley Tour was rated the #1 tourist attraction! We booked the historic landmark scenic tour (3 others offered) and arrived at 300 1/2 Clifton Avenue carriage house (built in late 1800's!) to the rear of 300 Clifton, just south of downtown and Loring Park. 300 Clifton turned out to be an impressive mansion listed the historic US Federal Registry! Totally unexpected!! At the tour office we met Norman, the tour director, purchased tickets and were escorted to the carriage house holding area containing a pool table, an old fashioned working pinball machine, vintage throne chair, and plenty of luxurious seating. This sightseeing tour was to be an adventure! Our group was ultimately greeted by the smartly dressed tour guide John, attired in an original tailor made trolley conductor's uniform replete with gold plated brass buttons. The heated trolley itself was a totally restored New Orleans trolley car with polished brass rails, Oriental carpet runner, solid oak trim, Victorian leaded, colored glass ceiling fixtures and an HD wide screen TV to show historic photos throughout the drive as we passed the same landmarks in real time. The nearly hour long tour was super informative, enlightening, educational, and fun for us trolley goers age 8 to 80! This was very much a live tour, not recorded. Our trolley conductor John, was probably the best guide we have ever encountered! His enthusiasm, excitement, humor, knowledge and complete love for his historically exceptional city was so informative and fun that I am motivated to invest my time and write this review! I totally recommend Minneapolis Trolley Tours.
