  • Aizome Kobo - Experience the art of traditional indigo dyeing at our studio on the historic Udatsu street. Here, you can create your own dyed scarf. Whether you’re traveling with family, friends, or on your own, everyone is welcome. We accommodate up to 8 people at a time. Complimentary gloves and aprons are provided, so feel free to drop by during your visit. Discover the rich culture and history of Awa indigo dyeing, recognized as Japan Heritage. A unique, handmade indigo-dyed item makes for the perfect souvenir. (Reservations accepted until 6:00 PM the day before.)

(By car) 7 minutes from the Wakimachi interchange on Tokushima Expressway. Parking is available at Roadside Station Ai Land Udatsu.
(By public transportation) 9 minutes by taxi from Anabuki Station on the JR Tokushima Line.

  • Selection of materials, pattern design, dyeing, and washing
  • Your finished piece will be wet and placed in a plastic bag for you to take home. Please hang it to dry once you get home.
