You could tell the pride our docent had in the restoration of the house. I even enjoyed the unrestored parts. To see what the previous owners did with the house. The fireplaces exteriors were wonderful even if they were never used. Learned a lot about the family which was interesting.

My lovely wife wanted to tour the mansion. We actually went three times and were unable to book twice. I booked online for the third attempt. I was reluctant but as usual acceded to her request. The volunteer tour operator was great even though the tour group was large and included a woman who let her toddler wander much to the displeasure of the volunteer who was quite restrained. The restoration of the mansion was quite impressive and I quickly became happy I followed the boss's direction.

Amazing tour! Great guide! Such an impressive restorative work and attention to detail. I can’t wait to come back in 3-5 years and see how it changes.

Tour took longer than expected because an addition to the tour required a wheelchair. The tour stopped and waited because they arrived late. Then we had to wait every time we changed floors so they and guide could use the elevator. I work with elders and normally wouldn’t care but had another appointment. The guide might have used elevator anyway because she reported an injury. I found her short and rude, talking to us, as if we were children. Youngest person on tour likely in 40’s or 50’s. Seemed to wanted to provide info but not answer questions. I will say the building was a disappointment from the photos in the internet which appeared to be an estate with property. Understand that times change and other properties bought up over time. Lastly tried to get a nice photo of the building before and after the tour but worker standing around on R side of building. Not only was he doing nothing but knew I was taking a photo and just stood there at the very front. Would have been interesting to hear more about his business and less about the priests who painted everything white. Not sure I would recommend the tour. Maybe in 10+ years when more is renovated.

What a great mansion! But, please replace your damaged roof titles before property damage occurs. You have a lot of exterior damage that needs to be addressed immediately. Please note, my husband works in exterior building product sales. Also, would not recommend a guided tour as you had half over the limit for fire codes and patron enjoyment. I also would NOT have Barb doing tours as she has a hearing problem. Pleae also note we volunteer for non profits too.
