Experience the stunning coastal Cinque Terre region of Italy on a day excursion from Milan. Known for its layered landscapes and five hillside villages - Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore - the UNESCO-protected Cinque Terre is one of Italy’s picturesque treasures. You’ll journey there in a comfortable coach, followed by a boat ride from Monterosso to La Spezia. Take advantage of some free time for exploration and lunch (at your own cost) before heading back to Milan.

Nice day with an excellent guide! - The ability to visit 2. sites was appreciated. La Spezia, which we saw quickly on arrival, Manarola and Monterosso. The boat trip added a few more from the sea. We have had a great day, even if it was a long excursion, and the weather helping with wonderful sunshine! Just a note: it is unfortunate that, besides the nice geography of these villages, all there is to see are restaurants and boutiques.

You don’t want to miss this! - Sara is a very knowledgeable guide, and she gave us lots of tips on where to eat and shop. The trip went very smoothly. I especially enjoyed her commentary while on the boat ride around Lake Como. Bellagio was a beautiful town as well!

Verona was amazing …the cinque Terre tour was cancelled - My cinque Terre tour was cancelled twice …luckily I accepted their offer to switch to Verona and lake Garda …Verona was enjoyable that we went back on our free day to explore more …

Not the best day - We attended this tour on an unfortunate day. There was an incident before we left regarding travellers who booked the night before and their names were not on the list so they were left as we drove off.
Although our guide was informative when asked a question, I didnt feel she gave us enough information during the day.
It rained!!! This changed our day completely as we didnt go on the boat. We used the train. where we were packed in like sardines, it was awful. I feel I would have preferred if this tour was cancelled due to weather.
Finally we had a very outspoken person on the tour who constantly informed the guide of her opinions. I feel it was uncomfortable especially her final outburst which was right in my ear!
Finally not stopping for a toilet break on the way home was unfortunate.
I know many of these points were not the tours fault but I felt I need to express them.

Horrible tour guide from Zani Viaggi tour company - My experience was ruined by our tour guide Veronica: self centered, ignorant and lazy person. We hardly used “radio” / ear phones. Due to the weather. Instead of the boat trip we had to transport by the train 3 times, Becase we didn’t use the radio, we almost missed our stop. The train was overcrowded that day and instead of taken a group to the less crowded car, we were waiting where was most of the passengers. Right after we left the bus and Veronica did the radio check, one of the participant’s, an older lady with a walking cane, stated that her radio is not working, yet Veronica replied “don’t worry, stay with me” and after that Veronica was in a rush to be in front leaving this lady behind desperately trying to catch up with the rest of the group on the hilly road. Radio was NOT used. No info on toilets location was provided and no suggestion were made on where to it lunch. The only valuable announcement was made by her is the $100 penalty for loosing a radio. On our way back, just before we stared to go back to Milan. I asked to make a toilet stop. Veronica ask if it’s urgent. I said that I can wait a little. After over an hour being on the bus, I called Veronica’s name few times without response. So, I walked over to her in the morning bus, which wasn’t safe, and she was sitting in the front with her earphones surfing the web. I asked about toilet stop again and she said that I said that it wasn’t urgent. So I replied that it wasn’t urgent over an hour ago but now it is. She said that it’s only 40 minutes left to Milan, like toilet will be available same minute we exit the bus. To make it worse, it was raining heavily that day, Uber was unavailable and it took me 40 minutes to get back to hotel. My 7 days in Milan were spoiled badly by this last experience. It’s hard to believe that the company like Zani Turismo aka Zani Viaggi would have someone like Veronica to ruin their reputation.

Don't take this tour; it's a waste of time and money. - First of all, this trip shouldn't have been offered on a national holiday without considering how it would affect the transportation from Milan and the crowded conditions everywhere we went. We spent an inordinate amount of time in traffic and what our guide called our "technical" stops--i.e. bathroom and snack stops--were so crowded that we couldn't get anything to eat and use the toilets in the time alloted. In the information about the trip, it should have been noted that nothing would be provided, not even water, and that we should bring our own food. We were picked up at our hotel at 6:10AM and couldn't get any food or drink until 2:00PM. This was unacceptable. Additionally, our guide provided next to no information about anything we were seeing and was rude when I let him know that he needed to slow down for some slower moving trip participants. He gave us no restaurant recommendations and did nothing but hurry us along. We spent only one hour in Monterosso and 50 minutes in another town. We didn't even have time to get a proper lunch after not eating for 8 hours. As far as I am concerned it was a total waste of time and money. If you are interested in going to Cinque Terre, find a way to get there on your own by doing some research. You don't need a guide. You will want to spend more time than this tour allots and you can read a guide book to get more information than we were given.

Save your money. - Disorganized, uncaring for slow moving participants, rude. After a late pickup, we were dropped off at the central Zani Biagi office and waited over 40 minutes. No one advised bringing food. Some of us had no breakfast. When our bus arrived we were told there would be a stop for bathrooms and snacks. We were taken to a road stop that was so crowded, no one could use the bathroom or buy food in the given time.
Back on the bus , the guide discussed traffic but no information about our coming stops. When we finally arrived in Spezia, we missed our boat and had to wait for the next one. While waiting, we found bathrooms and junk food. When we finally got on our boat, there were no bathrooms or food available. So it was past 1pm with no real food all day. The ferry went to Monterosso, where we spent minimal time and and barely had time to eat. Did not have time to explore the town at all. The same was true for other towns we visited. Maximum travel time, minimal time to visit! Save your money and do the ferry and or train yourself! Pick one or two towns and just go on your own. That way you can stay as long as you want and follow your own schedule. Do Not waste money on this tour. The guide we had was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Again, save your money!

Worst Tour Experience – No Show, No Support, Complete Disappointment - This is my first time ever leaving a negative review, but I feel compelled to share how frustrating and disappointing this experience was.
I booked this tour specifically because it offered hotel pick-up, which I thought would make the experience more convenient and stress-free. Unfortunately, that promise was never fulfilled. I arrived early at the confirmed pick-up location as advised by vaior and waited for nearly two hours. The tour operator never showed up, and I was left standing alone in a foreign country, unable to speak the language, with no communication or support.
The entire experience was frustrating, disappointing, and a complete waste of time and money. I booked through Viator thinking I could trust the platform, but the way this has been handled has made me seriously reconsider using the service again. If the agency couldn’t handle pick-ups, they shouldn’t have offered it in the first place.
My biggest regret was not booking with another company as there are many reliable local tour operators out there who would have done better and follow through on what they promise. Please think twice before booking this tour. You deserve better than being left behind without explanation. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I did.
