Exciting gray wale viewing - Carlos Valle guided our wale watching day on the pacific side of Baja California Sur near near Puerto Adolfo, isle Magdalena and the la Soledad. The natural sand dune island wer spectacular on their own rite but we got to see several grey wales too! We started the day with low expectations due to heavy fog limiting our visibility. Fortunately Carlos had backup plans; guiding us to other features of the region and allowing the fog to burn off. We got to see wales but also interesting cactus and other features of the area. Carlos came loaded with the backup plan but also is deeply knowledgeable about the gray wale, the region’s geography and heritage.

We always felt very safe and informed while with you, your knowledge of Mexican history, its conservation and landscape was amazing and helped us appreciate all that Mexico has to offer.

Lots of whales - We saw a lot of whales in Magdalena Bay during our 2 hours on the water. Our guide told us there weren’t many babies this year but lots of adults. The whales weren’t very active…no breaches or tails out of the water which was disappointing. Overall it was a good experience.
Lunch was after the whale watching and was good. Be sure to bring a jacket and snacks. We were picked up at 6am and lunch was around noon.

An unforgetable experience - My husband and I went on this tour. There were 9 of us on the tour - we ranged in age from 40- 70. We were picked up at the hotel at about 6:30 am and were returned to our hotel by about 2:30 pm. Everything about the tour was excellent. The van was immaculate and very comfortable. Our tour guide - Santos - was wonderful. He was informative about the whales but also local culture and agriculture and even had tips on driving in Mexico!
A lunch is provided and it was very tasty - fresh fish and seafood was prepared and served by two local women.
But the real highlight was the whales. A knowledgeable local driver took us on a boat to see the whales. We saw lots of them. We could see them all around us, spouting and splashing. For about 20 minutes or so several (maybe up to 6 of them) of them came right up to the boat and let us touch them. It was very special and something I won't ever forget. I am told getting to touch the whales doesn't happen everytime, so we were very lucky.
The boats are not large. Getting out to where the whales are involves going over some rough water. I had a marvelous time and didn't mind the bouncing and splashing at all, but if you are afraid of being on the ocean in a smallish boat it might not be your cup of tea. Really small children that can't hang on for themselves and anyone too frail might not have a good time.
If you are fit - ask for a tour with Santos and prepare to have the best time ever!

Excellent tour - All aspects of the tour were excellent, from the guide/driver, vehicle, lunch and, of course, the whale watching. We had to go out into the open ocean to see the whales, as they were not in the bay. Not the fault of Wild Loreto, but be forewarned if you are prone to seasickness. Highly recommend Wild Loreto.

Awesome whale watching trip - The whale watching trip was awesome! Our guides, Chris & Carlos were very attentive, entertaining/funny & accommodating. We got to see so many whales & one was friendly enough to hang out with our boats & even let us pet "her." The petting is unusual, though. Blessed! Definitely plan on doing it next time too!

Close-up encounters with gray whales in the wild - This is a must excursion when you are staying in Loreto for more than a week. It is a full 8 hour day that includes 4 hours return trip in an air conditioned van, 2 amazing hours watching for gray whales in Magdalena Bay, and a hearty Mexican lunch in Puerto Lopez Mateos. You travel across the BSC peninsula from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean through mountains and desert plateaus. Our guide and driver, Carlos, has a vast knowledge of whales and a respectful and eco-friendly manner with these beautiful creatures. Carlos and the boat captain worked collaboratively to give us sightings of more than 6 gray whales with no stress to these wild animals. A thoroughly satisfying day. Many thanks Carlos.

Long day, awful lunch and sadly only a few whales! - Long day as I was well aware, the van picked me up at 6:05 am and we weren't on the road after picking up all the other passengers until after 7am. The van is not comfortable for a tall person, my knees hit the back of the seat in front of me, so I was very uncomfortable for all these hours of driving. Our guide was nice enough, no real information during our driving travels on the fauna etc. The whale tour was good, decent boat and we were out there for our allotted 2 hours, our guide gave us more information on the whale tour. We saw several whales, unfortunately, they said the whales had left so only a few were there. We ate lunch at an AWFUL place, the food was barely edible, they should def find a better spot with better food, disappointing. Would I do it again, no. Too much driving when you can see the whales in Loreto. I also tried to book some other tours with them, and they were not responsive in my requests.

Lack of safety and comfort but we did see whales - Our boat for whale watching was a fishing panga suitable for 2 where wild Loreto put 6 adults on board for a 4 hour whale watching trip
Extremely uncomfortable the entire 4 hours life jacket we were equipped with were also extremely uncomfortable especially when whale watching required constant head movement
We did see both hump back and blue whales but a fun trip it was not
