Highlights
  • Iztapalapa - Most tourists always visit the same places. They don’t know the real Mexico. With me you can learn about the life of Mexicans without being in danger. I will meet you at the Bellas Artes metro station and from that point our trip by public transportation will begin to the beginning of the Cablebús (Cable car). I will be with you at all times, so there will be no danger. Together we will travel through the sky of the marginalized area of Mexico City. At no time will we go out on the dangerous streets, so the trip is very safe and perfect to get to know the other reality that almost no one talks about. We will return to the same starting point. Ideal to enjoy the Museum of Fine Arts. On this trip the language will be spoken in English and/or Spanish.

Additional Information

I understand that foreign people are afraid to visit the poor area of Mexico City. It is true that there are very dangerous areas and they are not pretty to see.

I would like foreigners to open their minds and venture out of areas like Polanco, Roma or Reforma.

We will take the transportation that normal Mexicans use on a daily basis. Upon arriving at the first cable car station, we will begin to see the ghetto and its surroundings. At no time will we go down.

From that point, I will give you information about the different social classes in Mexico and why this country continues to be a place of poverty.

Likewise, we will talk about Mexican culture and its valuable people. Specifically about the people who live in that area.

You don’t always have the opportunity to travel to a place like Latin America. So you have to make the most of the trip.

The tour is English and/or Spanish.

With me you will be safe :)

Wonderful trip! - José was an incredible tour guide and we absolutely loved the tour to Itzapalapa on the cable car. It was a beautiful ride through the neighborhood and José was insightful about the area and we learned a lot. I would highly recommend this tour just to get out of your comfort zone (it’s completely safe!) and see another side of the city. Thank you so much José!!!

A different side of CDMX - This experience will take you to places in CDMX most tourists never see and know little about. Jose does a wonderful job of guiding through a relatively new form of public transit (Cablebus) and narrating the realities of a large portion of the city. It is both educational and enjoyable.

A Tour Beyond the Usual - Jose was a wonderful guide to a part of Mexico City most tourists never see and never knew existed on a wonderful new mode of public transit (Cablebus - a massive gondola system). The tour was educational and the views awe inspiring. Very enjoyable.

An awesome experience - An amazing and very knowledgeable tour. The views from the cable car are so beautiful and the culture and people of Mexico are fantastic. My two daughters (13 and 14) enjoyed the tour and we all got along with Jose very well. We even had lunch with him afterwards and I tried some delicious pozole! Definitely check this tour out.

Wonderful afternoon - This little-known experience in Mexico City was one of the highlights of our trip. We were planning to do the cablebus on our own, but I’m so glad we did the tour as some parts would have been difficult for us to navigate on our own. Luis was a knowledgeable, caring guide. He made sure we were safe and taken care of the whole time, while also teaching us about the history and people of the area. The views cannot be beat, but beyond that, it was great to get out of the tourist areas and see how real people live in Mexico City. You also get a real sense of the expanse of the city. Highly recommend this tour!
