- Mexico City - The pick up will be at 5 am at your accommodation in Mexico City. The transfer will take 4 hours to reach Tolantongo which is located in the State of Hidalgo. On our way we can do stops for toilet, to buy breakfast or if you need something else.
- Grutas Tolantongo - This aquatic center is divided into two sections. First we will visit the Paradise section where the 40 thermal pools are located. You will change your clothes on your swimsuit and water shoes. We will take care of your things you won’t use safety inside the vehicle. We will spend 2 and a half hours in this section. You can enjoy the suspension wooden bridge, hot springs, the tunnel and the small waterfalls. Each pool has a unique design. By arriving early we will not find many people and the experience will be incredible being able to take beautiful photos. Afterwards we will visit the Grotto section where you will enjoy the waterfall, the grotto and the blue river. We will also be here for two and a half hours. You can buy food or have lunch at one of the restaurants. Before leaving you can take a shower and change into dry clothes
- Mexico City - We will leave back to Mexico City. The return to your accommodation will take approximately 4 hours.

In Tolantongo, we will enjoy and relax in the 40 thermal pools, each uniquely and beautifully designed, as well as in the grotto and the stunning blue river, all filled with thermal water. The average water temperature ranges between 34 - 38° C. This tourist center features restaurants, shops, and showers. We will spend 5 hours in Tolantongo, where you can take amazing photos and relish the natural beauty within a magnificent canyon.

private day trip - The trip was amazing - definitely worth making the time for! Great views and a unique experience. Our tour guide Omar was easy going and a very skilled driver! We got there nice and early before the crowds came in. Would highly recommend this day trip!

Excellent day trip from Mexico City - The views were amazing. We took many photos. We did the private tour by epic journey. Richard was our tourist guide and the experience was unique. It’s a long drive 4 hours to go and 4 back but we were very comfortable, definitely was worth it. If you go to Mexico City you need to go. Thank you for everything.

Serene Private Tour - Our tour was lovely, Richard was very kind and attentive, and we had ample time to see all of the wonders that Tolantongo has to offer. Doing a private tour was great, we got to relax and enjoy the day to ourselves. We would definitely do this tour again.

A Stunning Trip to Tolantongo! - I recently joined the private tour to the hot springs in Tolantongo from Mexico City, and the experience was breathtaking! The pools, warm springs, and stunning natural surroundings were absolutely magical. The guide was friendly and spoke English well, making everything seamless and enjoyable.
However, one downside was that the car didn’t have a heater during the chilly morning drive, which made the journey quite uncomfortable. Aside from that, everything else was fantastic, and I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a relaxing and unique getaway.

Best option to see the Tolantongo hot springs. - We had Richard as our guide. First off it was a private car for 2 people which I loved. We were not in a tour bus or waiting on people. This was a legit private tour. He arrived exactly in time and was very friendly. The drive was long but expected and he drove very well and we slept most of the ride. He then left the car and walked us to each part of the hotsprings and told us how to go about seeing them and a little history behind it. All in all I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone visiting Mexico City.

Amazing and unique tour, definitely worth it - The tour was amazing and super unique. The tour was completely private and it was super convenient because the place was so far, so we treated the huge van as a second home haha.
The tour guide, Ruben, was a very good and safe driver and very chill.

Check which car you are getting ! - I would not call it a "tour".
The "tour" guide was super friendly, helpful, and understanding. But the choice of car was very veeery bad. Highly recommended to ask and push for a comfortable car for a 8 hours (total) drive.
There wasnt there anything to be "guided" about in the experience. Not to complain, just to clear it out: Just drive 4 hours, enter the place (which you are on your own), and drive 4 hours back.
Yes, Tolantongo is amazing, and the food (in the restaurant) is delicious.

Not worth it. Will not recommend. - It was private tour but not guided. We went there with two kids (an infant and a toddler). The guide cum driver came on time to pick us up. The ride was good, the guide did everything to make our journey smooth. We enjoyed at the pools after that. Having booked a private tour we expected that the tour operator would be flexible on time but that was not the case. They were very adamant on five hours and were charging more if we wanted to stay there longer. The tour operator shared this information after we booked the tour. We did not have enough time to cover both the river and caves after the pool. So we decided on going for the cave. This was our first time and we didn’t know that the cave was not appropriate for the kids. The guide didn’t bother to tell us that. Only after we went inside, we realized our mistake. After covering the hot pools and the cave, we had no time left for the river. The guide never explained us the reason behind the hot water nor did he shared any other information. We had to request him to stop for lunch on our way back. He helped us to get the food favorable to our dietary restrictions. The person was good but he was not a good guide. I would not recommend spending so much for this “private” tour when all you are getting is a private vehicle only.
