Where do I even begin?! This was hands down one of the most magical experiences of my entire trip to Mexico, and I have Tourmates — and our incredible guide Yordi — to thank for every single moment of it.
We kicked off the day with a hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacán, soaring above the ancient ruins of what was once the mighty city of Tenochtitlan. Watching the sun rise over those massive pyramids from the sky? Absolutely breathtaking. No photo does it justice — you just have to be there.
After we floated back to earth, Yordi was right there waiting for us. He had already picked us up from our Airbnb earlier that morning, and from that very first moment, you could tell this guy knew his stuff. Knowledgeable, passionate, warm, and genuinely excited to share the history of the pyramids with us — Yordi made the entire experience come alive. He walked us through everything, answered every question, and even made sure we had amazing photos to take home as memories.
What I really appreciated was the transparency in pricing. Everything was agreed upon upfront — no surprises, no awkward moments, no hidden fees. You pay on the day, exactly what was discussed. In a world full of tourist traps, that kind of honesty is refreshing.
From the moment he picked us up to the moment he dropped us safely back at the Airbnb, Yordi was with us the entire day — fully present, fully committed, and making sure we had the time of our lives.

Great overview tour and transportation - We had an excellent experience with Ernesto both with the tour and with transportation. He was on time for our pickup with a clean newer model vehicle. His knowledge of the Basilica and all of the features there and the history was very strong and he was patient in waiting for us to linger a bit at the end. His english is excellent and customer service mindset strong. We would definitely recommend this tour with Ernesto to get a great overview during your visit.

Awesome tour! - We had an awesome experience with the private tour provided by Jordy with TourMate Mexico. He adapted the tour to both English and Spanish speakers and was very descriptive of the different things. There were several moments that other people from different groups were paying attention to his descriptions rather than their own tour guides. With having both older adults and young children, he adapted the speed of the tour to the needs of the group. I really enjoyed this tour and couldn’t recommend it enough.

TourMate private tours - TourMate organised all our tours in Mexico City. They were simply brilliant and value for money. We went for private tours. The tour guides were highly qualified (one was a PhD in Anthropology) and spoke excellent English. The food tours were brilliant and the guides took time to explain.
I organised the tours from London. Ren from tour mate was very responsive and any time of the day. Really recommend using them.

Must do on your trip - This tour is absolutely worth it. Mario, our tour guide, went in depth into history of not only the basilica, but also the surrounding areas. There’s an option to add time to attend mass which is great.

Phenomenal experience - We used them for a trip right after Christmas. We had three adults and three young kids. They were amazing. They communicated ahead of the trip, the night before and the morning of the tour. The vehicle was super clean and safe. Ernesto was our tour guy and he was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable and patient with us. I would definitely recommend this tour and would use them again!

Another Fabulous Personalized Tour with Yordi - Our private tour of the Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe was EXCELLENT! Yordi, our guide did a fantastic job. I was concerned about the tour when I scheduled with Yordi as I wasn’t certain if my non-Catholic friends would enjoy. They absolutely LOVED IT! Yordi’s overview of the Basilica was very thorough and kept us engaged throughout our tour. Yordi’s easy going attitude enhanced our experience. Yordi is bilingual and his grasp of English made it very easy to understand. Yordi was very attentive and tailored tour based on our interests. You won’t be disappointed if you tour with Yordi!

Absolutely wonderful - Yordi took us( three couples) on a tour of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the various buildings. He was very patient and willing to stop for photos.
Everything was arranged and it was simply a pleasant day and a very memorable experience.
He picked us up in a van and dropped us back at our hotel.
Yordi was very flexible, experienced with driving and with the many sites in Mexico City, and was very easy to understand ( his English is excellent and his Spanish was even better!).
We couldn’t have been more pleased with his assistance with our trip.
