Great Experience!! - Great day and good/funny group ! Beautiful day in a beautiful contest and perfect weather. To repeat going to the summit next time

Great day on the etna - The hiking tour on the etna was organized by whatsapp contact and very uncomplicated. We started at 9.00 AM in a group of four including the english speakig guide Luca. As a german with good basic skills communication was easy to handle. Because this was in November the tour was after season and with a small group and the mountain was not full of tourists which was great. Wheater was perfect and you can see catania, taormina, ocean and lot of some other craters. The landscape is amazing and should be a must have when you visit sicilia. Tour startet at Rifugio Sapienza, we used cable car station and walked to the maximum height (at the moment) of ca. 3000 m. The total hiking lenght without cable car was 9,5 km. (round course started and ended at cable car station). Because of snow and ice good hiking shoes and spikes are nescessary but are available at the tour start for free. Its absolutly recomended to use this service as there is a high risk of falling. Good normal condition should be there as you hiking above 2000 m and there is much wind. Further prepare for a lunch, water, gloves, clothes for change (in summer). You will be sweating even in winter so use good hiking clothings. The guide makes a lot of breaks for showing and explaining the etna, its history and the landscape around on sicilia. He was showing some pictures and videos from last eruptions and vulcanic activities which was excellent to understand where you are standing and going. Without that i think the tour would be so interesting as it was. Further we had some funny and interesting talks about italy and sicilia. I absolutly recommend to do this tour when you want to go on etna. Dont go by yourself as its dont even as interesting and safe as with a guide and you even have to pay 30 € for the cable car station.
