Additional Information

The tour of Taormina and Savoca is a high point among Sicilian day trips from Messina (either port or city center) especially for Godfather enthusiasts.

Starting from the place of departure, we are off to the historic town of Savoca in Sicily, an impressive medieval hamlet dubbed one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.

Here, you will embark on a mini tour of Savoca, tracing the path taken by the Godfather movie by F.F. Coppola. A statue in honor of Coppola is situated in the village’s scenic square, a spot also famous for the renowned Vitelli bar. Our tour guides will recount the area’s history and local celebrations.

Next, we head to Taormina, famously referred to as the ‘Mediterranean Pearl’. You’ll explore the ancient avenue of Corso Umberto, recently one of the filming locations for White Lotus Sicily’s second season.
We eagerly anticipate your arrival and can’t wait to share the incredible Taormina and Savoca tour experience with you; you won’t be disappointed!

Very well organized and fun tour, highly recommended! - Margarita met us as described during booking, with a very nice and comfortable minivan. On the way she told us a lot of Messina, Sicily history and Godfather filming in Savoca. The village is beautiful with fantastic views. Taormina tour was also very nice and White Lotus fans will appreciate gorgeous Four Seasons scenery.

Can not say enough good things! TAKE THIS TOUR!! - Giulia was an amazing tour guide! Throughout all the walking tours, and even our long ride to our destinations, she shared very interesting historical facts, cultural information and local legends. Even though the tour is titled “the Godfather tour,” that is just a small part of the information that is shared. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get a close look at what on the island is really like. The walk through Savoca was awesome. The most beautiful city, the best movie (The Godfather) trivia, and even time for coffee & canolis . I can not say enough wonderful things about this tour!! Giulia said not to consider her a tour guide, but to think of her as a local friend showing us the island. And that is exactly how it felt! Thank you for a wonderful experience for me and my family!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. MISLEADING IN DESCRIPTION!! - When booking, the description stated that this was a private vehicle, max group of 15 people. Our family of 13x booked this with that in mind. When getting to the meeting point, we were shuffled onto a bus with other groups. The bus was old, smelled of motor oil, fabric seats and very poor air conditioning. The day we toured it was 118 degrees outside, Sicily in July. With 25 people on this bus, inside felt hotter. We spent a good portion of our tour (2.5 hours) driving from place to place with no reprieve from the exhaustive heat. Sitting tightly next to another sweating while traversing Sicily mountainside roads in a very rough ride. While the driver was experienced driving these roads, the speed felt unsafe. The tour guide Elisa was good. After submitting a complaint to Viator, I was told that max group was for reservation group not max people on the tour. Also after submitting my complaint, the ad description was changed to include bus in every place they could describe it. Viator nor the tour contractor offered any discount for what can only be described as torture and as the worst tour we booked on our 20 days in Europe. I would not recommend this company for any tour at any time.

Broken AC in 100 degree heat - We left the tour halfway through. The tour company gave us a bus with no AC even though they had been told previously it was broken and still chose to send it. It was 100 degrees in the middle of July. It was actually cooler outside the bus than inside. I was feeling overheated, so we left halfway through the tour and had to pay $100 euros to travel 50 km back to Naples. The company did not offer any type of compensation for this. We were very concerned about the health of us and all persons on this tour. We were so excited for this tour and it was so disappointing.
