• Taormina - After meeting the driver within the port area, the tour begins with a journey to Taormina, approximately 40 minutes from the Messina cruise port. From here, ISOLA BELLA, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage natural reserve, can be admired from above, connected to Taormina’s coast by a slender strip of sand.
• Corso Umberto - The tour continues to Corso Umberto in Taormina, the main thoroughfare traversing the city center and a hub of interest. Along Corso Umberto, visitors will find luxury boutiques, jewelers, clothing, and souvenir shops. Additionally, there are numerous bars and restaurants, alongside significant historical landmarks such as the renowned GREEK-ROMAN THEATRE, hosting performances and concerts by globally acclaimed artists. • Isola Bella - A must-see in Taormina is the small island at the city’s base, featured on every Taormina postcard! ISOLA BELLA is accessible on foot in about 20 minutes from the city’s top (the return journey involves many steps and can be tiring!). This beach is truly stunning and worth visiting, especially for its pebble beach and crystal-clear waters, perfect for a refreshing swim after exploring the town. To visit the villa’s interior on the island, an entrance fee of approximately 4 euros per person is required, not included in the tour price.
• Castelmola - This small medieval village, considered one of Italy’s most beautiful, is renowned for its ceramics. Situated 5 kilometers from Taormina, Castelmola is a must-visit for its medieval castle ruins and charming streets. The village and castle offer some of the most picturesque views of the valley and MOUNT ETNA. Be sure to try the ALMOND WINE, a local specialty.
• Savoca - Savoca, a town rich in attractions, is a quaint village in the Messina province. Known for its role in “The Godfather” film by Francis Ford Coppola, shot in 1972, Savoca offers a nostalgic journey to the past, with minimal traffic and ancient lava stone buildings, surrounded by citrus, vineyards, and olive groves. The beautiful Gulf of Taormina is just minutes away. Savoca warmly welcomes tourists with artistic ceramic panels by Messina artists, and a wealth of history, art, and local traditions.
• Bell Tower and Astronomical Clock (Orologio Astronomico) - Upon returning from the Messina tour, the driver will stop at the renowned Cathedral of Messina, near the cruise port, where visitors can admire the impressive Bell Tower, featuring the world’s largest and most beautiful astronomical and astrological clock, offering another great photo opportunity!
