Desert thrills, camel spills, and tea that made me question everything – thanks, Mujahid! - Our desert adventure began when Mujahid picked us up from town in his 4x4. Within minutes on Doha’s seven-lane motorway, I started to wonder if we’d joined a secret Formula 1 qualifying session. The man drives with precision, confidence, and just the right hint of mad genius. Later, when we were gliding (well, flying) over the sand dunes, I realised he wasn’t reckless at all — he’s a phenomenal driver. That earlier burst of enthusiasm on the tarmac was clearly just him warming up the tyres for the real show. Our first stop was the camel camp, where I met my noble, slightly bemused ride. Some reviewers have grumbled that the camel ride only lasts five minutes — but honestly, that’s the perfect duration. My backside and I both agreed it was the ideal camel-comfort interval. Any longer and I’d be applying for a new spine. After dismounting gracefully (or something resembling that), we were treated to local tea with milk. I asked about the milk and was proudly told it came from a female camel, which was comforting — though later, Mujahid confessed with a grin that it was actually cow’s milk all along. I told him it tasted just like a proper English Breakfast tea, and he nearly doubled over laughing. Cultural exchange: complete. Then came the main event — dune bashing. Mujahid handled the car like an artist painting in sand: smooth, daring, and always in control. We climbed, dropped, and swooped across the dunes, hearts racing and cameras struggling to keep up. Next was sand boarding — or, as I briefly called it, “my potential obituary.” When Mujahid opened the boot, pulled out a board, and started writing something underneath, I thought he was engraving my final words of farewell. Turns out, he was just waxing it for extra speed. My nerves returned briefly when I assumed I’d have to stand upright, snowboard-style, but to my relief it was meant for sitting. Off I went, sliding down the golden slope like a delighted penguin on a mission. Of course, there was no ski lift or helicopter waiting at the bottom, so the return to the top required some good old-fashioned human effort — also known as sweaty redemption. We made a short stop by the Inland Sea, a breathtaking spot where the desert kisses the water. The view was so serene it felt almost otherworldly — the perfect pause after all the adrenaline. And finally, the journey back, with the sun setting over endless dunes, left me with that quiet sense of awe that only comes from a day perfectly spent. So yes — some people came expecting a theme park. What they got instead was an authentic desert experience, guided by a man who knows every grain of sand like an old friend. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Also yes — though maybe next time, someone can drive me back up that dune.

Fun times in the desert - I had a great time on this tour! My guide, Bilal, was very nice in a quiet way. I am a woman traveling alone and I felt very safe the whole time. The dune bashing was my favorite part, but I enjoyed the whole thing.

Excellent tour - Great experience, very unique. Good driver and guide.. a must try if u visit Doha. Beautiful sand, ocean and fun riding camel. I think car has to be updated, no handle inside the car.

Never miss this tour if you visit Qatar and really affordable rates and safe - I'm a solo rider in this trip but I choosed sharing, everyone in the ride was soo cool and Specially Bilal the tour guide he is really nice man, driver safely and he made sure we covered all the spots and returned everyone home safely
