DAY 1: FEZ – ATLAS MOUNTAINS - ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA DESERT

Merzouga Desert - The driver will meet the group at their riad or hotel at 7:00 am for the journey to Merzouga, traversing the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, Midelt, Errachidia, Erfoud, and Rissani. Lunch will be in one of the towns or villages along the way, depending on the weather. The day will mostly be spent traveling through forests, rugged terrain, and Berber villages as the group crosses the Atlas Mountains and descends into the Sahara Desert. A stop for lunch will be made in Midelt, known for its fossils and rocks. Upon reaching the Kasbah of Merzouga, a hot shower or a swim in the pool (weather permitting) will be refreshing after the journey. Dinner will be served at the camp.

DAY 2: EXPLORING MERZOUGA AND CAMEL RIDE

Merzouga Desert - After breakfast, the group will visit the village of Khamliya, home to Gnawa people of African origin who settled in the Moroccan desert seeking a better life. A visit to the city of Rissani and its souk will follow, where local products can be explored and Berber pizza (medfouna) can be enjoyed at a restaurant. In the afternoon, a camel ride will take the group across the dunes to uncover the secrets of the sand sea, stopping at a pristine oasis. The silence of the desert, the beauty of nature, and the sunset can be admired. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a Berber tent at the base of one of Erg Chebbi’s highest dunes.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA - TODRA GORGES – TINGHIR

Tinghir - An early rise to witness the sunrise over the dunes will reveal the changing colors of the sand in the sunlight. Cameras and phones should be ready for unforgettable photos. After capturing the moments, the group will return to the van by camel, enjoying the tranquility and allure of the sunlit dunes. The journey will continue through palm groves and oases towards Tinghir and the stunning Todra Gorge, with its towering 5mm high canyons. After the visit, the group will proceed to Hotel Saghrou for an overnight stay.

DAY 4: TINGHIR - ROSE VALLEY - AIT BEN HADDOU - ATLAS MOUNTAIN - MARRAKECH

Marrakech - The city, renowned for its kasbahs, including the Taourirt World Heritage Site and one of the region’s most beautiful palaces, will be visited. Near the city, the Kasbah of Ouarzazate will be a stop to explore the cinema museum and film studios where many international films, such as “Gladiator,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Game of Thrones,” and “Babel,” were shot. 20 km later, a right turn will lead to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After the visit, the journey will continue across the High Atlas Mountains, showcasing spectacular landscapes and hidden Berber villages nestled at the base of vast valleys. (Optional: lunch can be enjoyed at a local restaurant at the Tichka Pass), and the group will return to Marrakech, with drop-off at the nearest transport point to their accommodation.
