Best Yucatan Kitchen Experience we could wish for - Experienceing the market with Luz was already a big pleasure, but the cooking class afterwards with Berth was really nice to learn about the Yucatan cuisine. It was also much fun to do this with another (French) family and a US couple. I am going to try to make some of the recipes with my son, here in The Netherlands.

My Mérida foodie tour - This tour is a must for anyone wanting to taste the flavors and understand the cultures of the food in Merida, Mexico. We had an amazing time walking through the city and seeing some of the historical landmarks as we made our way to the largest indoor markets in Mérida. We got to taste some of the local ingredients that we are going to put together and make a traditional Yucatán meal. Chely was our guide through this experience and she made it so much fun and very interesting. As we went through, we got to customize the level of intensity for the flavors that we are going to make into our meal as well as pick out our own desserts and treats on our way. What made this so interesting and enjoyable was when we reached our hosts home where we were going to make this meal and as a group, we all divvy up the duties in order to prepare all the ingredients and cook the meal together. The experience was very enjoyable and we made new friends at the same time. Be prepared to walk and enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of Mérida on this culinary adventure. It’s a real treat. You don’t want to miss.

An exceptional and authentic experience with our super guide Zulma - Exceptional and very authentic experience The visit to the market allowed us to discover and test multiple flavors in places we would not have discovered on our own (fruit mixtures of spices taco specialty and local drink ...) The cooking class was great and we loved this immersion in a Mexican home (Leo) it was a very strong moment of exchange we laughed a lot and we are feasted.especially the experience was exceptional thanks to our guide Zulma who was great, speaks excellent French and made us love his country even more.. parents and children loved this moment of sharing that we will do again with great pleasure

A highlight of our trip to Mexico! - This was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had in Mexico so far! The market tour was super engaging, it was so interesting to learn about the local ingredients and food culture in context. Our guide, Laura, was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, which made the whole experience feel personal and authentic. Due to Laura we also came away with some really helpful travel tips for the rest of our trip, especially for Oaxaca — such a nice bonus! Highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves food and culture

Cooking Yucatecan Style: A Hands-On Culinary Experience - We had a wonderful experience taking part in a traditional Yucatecan cooking class today. After shopping for fresh ingredients at a bustling local market, we headed to our host’s home to start cooking. We prepared several delicious dishes, including pollo pibil, empanadas de chaya, sikil pak, and a coconut dessert. Everyone got involved in the process – from chopping vegetables to blending sauces – and we learned a lot about local ingredients and techniques. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. A great way to experience Mayan culture through food – highly recommended!

A perfect way for food lovers to spend a day in Merida - What an incredibly special day we have had with Luz and Mercedes. Luz guided us through the market, letting us taste food and explaining both the things we would be buying as well as other local items. We then travelled by bus with Luz to the wonderful home of Mercedes who guided us through preparing a series of local dishes. We then all sat together and enjoyed the food. It was the most perfect day, getting to know Merida and the foods of the Yucatan. I would definitely recommend joining them on your visit here.

We came away feeling more connected to Mérida - We did a market tour and cooking class of traditional Yucatan food. Our guide was Zulma. She was the kindest, most knowledgeable person, who explained everything so well. My partner and I were beyond happy from the market tour alone, where Zulma showed us local delicacies and took us around the market, including making it clear we didn’t have to go to any sections of the market we didn’t want to, such as the meat areas. Zulma also gave us some local history of the area and let us know about the various Museums. When we went to the hosts house to learn to cook, it felt like stepping in to a family member’s home and we felt so welcome and warm from the experience. The food was amazing and the memories made were unforgettable. On top of all this they sent us a recipe book of the things we made and more, to have after the tour. I would encourage any and everyone one to do this.

Delicious discovery of Mérida cuisine - We discovered the market of Mérida with Luz. Tasted great food, she told us interesting information about meat, spices, sweets, tortilla… Then we took a local bus to the house of Bertha. We made a delicious chicken dish, empanadas, coconut dessert… we had soo much fun and Luz acted as the link between the local household and our group.
