We didn't get to visit the premier attraction - This was potentially a great tour, but the pickup was late with no message to us about the delay, so it started off badly. Once we were en route, the guide was very knowledgable and spoke both English and Spanish. Unfortunately, Uxmal was closed because of a swarm of bees and we could not enter the site (which was the reason we had purchased this tour.) The guide on a couple of occasions to get us into Uxmal, but the site was firm. We did travel to Kabah and a lovely cenote with a buffet lunch, and both of those were excellent. The guide, feeling bad, tried to take us into a much smaller Mayan site, but the road to get there proved to be impassable for the bus. So he improvised again with a visit to a nearby hacienda, but at that point in the day, many of the groups members decided to not purchase yet another admission. So the day was somewhat disappointing, but when it comes to nature vs. man, nature always wins, and Uxmal being closed was just a part of the circle of life. The guide and driver were friendly and knowledgable, and the van was well-maintained and comfortable.
