  The time to get to the Celestún mangrove reserve is 1 hour and a half on the road.

You board the boat which has a capacity for a maximum of 8 people, on this boat you take the 1 and a half hour trip to visit the bird rest area, sighting of pink flamingos and other birds, you cross the tunnel of mangroves and swim in a freshwater spring.
  Here at the pier there are bathrooms (it is recommended to wear a swimsuit if you want to swim in the water hole).

Discover the mangrove reserve through a boat tour. Observe various endemic and migratory birds that live in the mangroves. Bird watching includes binoculars to observe them up close. The best season to see many flamingos in Celestún is between December and March; The rest of the months there are few, however, other types of local birds can be observed.
