• Melbourne - The journey begins in Melbourne City, heading southeast for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The first destination is the Koala Conservation Reserve on Phillip Island.
• Phillip Island Nature Parks - Koala Reserve - At the Koala Conservation Centre on Phillip Island, visitors have 45 minutes to explore the lush environment and walk along the elevated boardwalks that meander through the treetops. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe koalas in their natural habitat, resting in the eucalyptus trees. The knowledgeable staff will share fascinating insights into the conservation efforts that protect these cherished animals. It’s a serene and educational experience, offering excellent photo opportunities and a chance to appreciate the beauty of Australia’s wildlife.
• Cape Woolamai - Phillip Island has a population of around 15,000, which increases during the busy tourist seasons. The main settlements include Cape Woolamai, New Haven, and Cowes. The stop at Cape Woolamai beach is seasonal, weather permitting, and is mostly visited during the summer.
• Cowes - In the summer, there is often time to explore the coastal township of Cowes. Nestled alongside the calm Westernport Bay, this township is named after Cowes on the Isle of Wight. It offers beautiful seaside views, unique shops to explore, and many delightful restaurants. This stop is limited in winter due to shorter daylight hours.
• The Nobbies Centre - The next stop is the Nobbies Rocks, where visitors can walk along the boardwalks to view the rocky coast and spot penguins nesting in their burrows. The journey continues along the backroads through the Phillip Island Penguin Habitat, offering stunning views of the coastal cliffs on the way to the Phillip Island Penguin Parade.
• Phillip Island Nature Parks - Penguin Parade - The highlight of the Phillip Island tour is the Little Penguins performing their nightly Penguin Parade. These adorable creatures are the smallest of their kind in the world. • Melbourne - After the Penguin Parade, the return journey to Melbourne begins, with the return time depending on the penguins’ arrival. As the penguins return to their burrows, there is ample time to savor the experience before heading back.
