Highlights
  • Cable-car station Santo Domingo - On board the Metrocable, discover three essential pillars of Medellin’s progress: public transportation connecting the city, the strong sense of mutual aid and community belonging, as well as strategic urban planning. These elements have helped transform Medellin into a dynamic and inclusive city, symbolizing the city’s renewal and resilience.
  • Parque Biblioteca Espana - Start your day at Mirador de Santo Domingo, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Medellin. While admiring the city’s iconic sites, our guide will explain the impact of armed conflicts in the countryside, which led to waves of migration to Medellin. These migrations have shaped working-class neighborhoods, often resulting from the invasion, and our guide will enlighten you on this complex and often little-known reality of the city.
  • Uva De La Armonía - Embark on public transport towards Comuna 3 Manrique, a neighborhood that has undergone a remarkable social transformation. Here, you will discover the innovative urban planning project called “UVA” (Unit of Articulated Life). This project succeeded in significantly reducing levels of insecurity, with an impressive drop of 70%, while promoting social cohesion through the intelligent development of urban space. Prepare to be inspired by this story of resilience and community revitalization.
  • Macromural Constelaciones - Immerse yourself in the vibrant soul of the San José de la Cima and Brisas del Jardin neighborhoods by meeting Javier, an exceptional resident. Through the frescoes and murals that adorn the streets, Javier will guide you through the social evolution of Medellin. Witness to the armed conflict in his neighborhood, he shares his remarkable journey and his commitment to the education of young people. Despite his disability, Javier celebrates hope and resilience through the captivating stories and artistic treasures of his beloved Barrio.
  • Priorato San Pablo Apostol - Discover the Choco con Amor restaurant, located next to the Pablo Apostol Church. This place reflects the remarkable resilience of a resident forced to leave her native region to settle in Medellin. The tour of resilience and the meeting with its protagonists - Beautiful visit to a neighborhood of Medellín. We were able to share with the inhabitants and discover the past of this neighborhood today marked by peace and tranquility. An example of resilience through art and community action. Tom is an excellent guide who speaks perfect Spanish and knows the details of the story and its protagonists. I highly recommend this visit.
