Fabulous day of discovering two very different parts of Antioquia - My husband and I booked the coffee farm experience and the tour of Comuna 13 as one combined tour as we didn’t have a ton of time in Medellin. Our guide was Daniel, and he was wonderful. He spoke perfect English and was friendly, fun, informative and seemed to know lots of people in Comuna 13. We even got to meet one of the neighbourhood’s most prolific graffiti artists because Daniel introduced us. He picked us up on time at our hotel in a clean air conditioned vehicle. We headed to Comuna 13 early which was great because it wasn’t crowded and the vendors hadn’t yet set up for the day so we were able to see and enjoy the graffiti murals.
We learned about the history of the community, the meaning behind the artwork and saw a ton. Daniel also took lots of great pictures of us and Airdropped them to me at the end of the tour.
He also got us an incredibly delicious popsicle from a local vendor made from green mango and passionfruit which is served with a cup of lime juice and salt for dipping. We caught part of a truly impressive breakdancing performance and then we left.
After that we drove over to the coffee farm which is a small family-run farm. They have some animals and they’re on the side of a mountain. They served us a delicious bandeja paisa for lunch with some of the ingredients coming straight for their farm (avocado, eggs, the leaves it was wrapped in).
We brewed their coffee in 4 different methods and got to compare them. We also learned a lot about the coffee industry, and the life cycle of the coffee plant. Then we geared up in rubber boots and traditional coffee harvesting gear and set off into the hills to pick some coffee berries ourselves and then go through all the steps of the process.
I would highly recommend Medellin Day Trips and Daniel specifically. He made the day really great.

Unbeatable guide and a very unforgettable day! - We were very fortunate to have met our guide, Sara. Her passion and energy was key to our memorable experience. We gained a much deeper understanding and appreciation for Medellín and Columbia through Sara. Her acknowledgment of their difficult past was very helpful in getting the full picture about this country. Highly recommend Sara and this combined tour!

So grateful to have booked!!! - We loved our tours of Comuna 13 and the coffee farm. Sara, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and made the experience great. I would recommend this tour as a must do when in the Medellín area. Comuna 13 offers fascinating history and views & a lively atmosphere (Sara was wonderful at letting us explore wherever we wanted) while the coffee farm offers a more rural experience that is equally interesting, as you learn the process of coffee and even get to dress in farmer’s clothes. This is a great company and if I return to Colombia, I will book every tour with them that I can! They made us feel so safe and lucky to have a private tour at a reasonable cost!!

Highly recommended! - We had a great day exploring the coffee farm. Laura was an awesome guide and so much fun. Juan was also so personable and knowledgable about coffee - it made it a really special day. Couldn’t recommend the day and the hosts highly enough!

Best Tour of Our Entire Stay in Colombia - Our tour with Erika through Comuna 13 and the coffee experience was absolutely incredible—without a doubt, the best tour of our entire stay in Colombia!
From the start, Erika made sure everyone in our diverse group felt comfortable, from a toddler to older members, even going above and beyond to take care of a member who was injured. Her attention to detail and genuine care for each of us made her feel more like a family member than just a guide. It wasn’t even part of her job description, but she made sure everyone's needs were met effortlessly.
Beyond her kindness, Erika is an exceptional storyteller, weaving history, culture, and personal insights into the tour in a way that kept us completely engaged. She also had the perfect balance of flexibility and time management, ensuring we soaked in every moment without feeling rushed.
The coffee tour was equally delightful, and our guide Alexa (or Aleha) was an absolute joy—sweet, funny, and knowledgeable.
If you’re visiting Medellín, this tour is a must-book experience. It was the perfect way to end our trip, and we couldn’t recommend Erika more highly!

If you love history and culture this tour is for you - Sarita was the most amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about everything. She answered every question we had and informed us of all of the history. 10/10 recommend this tour and her as the guide. Made our trip in Medellin even more memorable!

Perfect way to spend a day in Medellín - This tour was one of the best we did in Colombia. Our guide Sara was amazing, super knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was really well planned to make the most of the day and we loved sampling the local snacks! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to spend a day in the area.

Fantastic family friendly guide, amazing combo experience! - We (my husband and I with our two boys ages 6 and 4) went to Comuna 13 and a coffee farm just outside Medellín with Erika. What a beautiful day! Erika was informative, friendly and great with the kids. She kept them engaged while we all explored Comuna 13. Lunch at the coffee farm was delicious and filling! The farm itself was wonderful, it was a delight to learn more about the process. Highly recommend Medellín Day Trips!
