Maalaea Harbor

Check-in is at Ma’alaea Harbor North Loading Dock, left of Coast Guard Station. Harbor parking is across from Carl’s Jr. before the Ocean Center. The price must be paid by credit card. The parking lot is walking distance (5-6 minutes) to the dock.

Pride of Maui amazes us every time! - You are in the absolute best hands when you book an excursion with the Pride of Maui tours. We have taken many snorkeling tours over the years but ever since our first Pride of Maui experience 5 years ago we use them exclusively. We have traveled as a couple, with an event group, as our smaller family, with our extended family and with our friends and their family and everyone agrees that Pride of Maui is the best. Their customer service is top notch, Their crew is incredible with kids and reluctant swimmers, the food and drinks are always yummy and as someone who gets boat sick, their onboard ginger concoction gets me out to reef and snorkeling every time. This year was different, and I wasn’t able to make it off the boat due to illness but I still had an amazing time watching my family enjoy the experience. I also appreciate that no matter who the crew and captain are our experience is always consistently superior… Truly do yourself a favor and book a trip with Pride of Maui, and you will be like us, and continue to take your family back again and again:)

Over the top experience! - They worked hard to create a positive experience. In addition to burgers they added cookies, pineapple, chicken and drinks. During snorkeling, they were out with us finding turtles, etc. whale watching: they knew where to go, very educational, and brought us close in. For me, it was an over the top experience!

Great day trip and saw lots of whales - Saw lots of whales. The captain educated us on them, it was really interesting. Burgers ,chips and drinks for lunch. Snorkeling was ok, pretty cloudy due to conditions. Nice they offer wet suit tops for $10. All the staff were really nice and helpful. I would do it again.

Pride of Maui is the way to go! - We varied in age from 70 to 3 years old and this company cared for each one of us as our needs required. For example: my grand daughter was nervous about wearing googles and they offered a boogie board with window. The food was great. Fresh, great variety and more than enough with seconds of need be. And they even had a special treat for us after snorkeling. The drink selection was great both alcoholic and general. We spent plenty of time watching the whales and had plenty of time snorkeling. We never felt rushed or cut short from anything. Both the captain and his mates were well informed and gave us great information about the island and the whales. We also appreciated that there wasn’t any pressure for gratuity. Some of these excursions really place a lot of emphasis on giving them extra. This group went above and beyond for every one and it felt like a genuine gift instead of obligatory.

Safe professional great for beginner snorkeling - Nice large boat, very clear snorkeling, we did see a lot of whales !! Crew awesome!!!! Equipment was very good. Food was good. Free drinks but not great quality, watery. Great for beginners! Safe professional!

Pride of Maui was an amazing experience! - Pride of Maui is a really great outfit. Excellent boat, really fun, competent, warm and attentive staff who take care of you throughout the trip. The captain was top notch and informative. We saw a gazillion whales. Highly recommded.

Saw lots of whales. The crew was great. - The captain was very competent and had a vast knowledge of whale biology. The all female crew were accommodating and customer service oriented. The food was good and plentiful, as were the drinks. One thing that applies to all tour operators, they want you to arrive 1/2 hour early. We do and then we stand in line for a half hour in the sun waiting to check in. And, you don't need to download the QR coded tickets, as they have a roster with our names printed. I'd suggest getting to check-in 10 minutes prior to departure.

A Fantastic Whale Watching Experience – Worth Every Penny! - We had a wonderful 1 o’clock lunch whale watching tour and opted for the upper premium deck—an upgrade that was absolutely worth it. The surcharge grants you a 360-degree view and a shaded seating area, making the two-hour cruise significantly more comfortable. One of the highlights was the free-flow beverage service, including Moët & Chandon champagne, which added a touch of luxury to the experience. The crew was outstanding—attentive, polite, and always ensuring guests were well taken care of. As someone using a walker, I truly appreciated how smooth and effortless the boarding and disembarking process was, thanks to the crew’s assistance. From the reservation process to the cruise itself and finally stepping off the boat, everything was seamless and enjoyable. A huge thank you to the team for making this such a memorable experience!

Cancelled Twice! - We booked a trip for Wednesday on the Pride of Maui (POM) and it was cancelled. At POM's request we rebooked for Monday. That trip was cancelled due to weather. We called Four Winds and they had a Wednesday trip available which was our original choice. Imagine our surprise when we got to Molokai Crater and we were moored next to the POM !!!! Save yourself some grief and book with Four Winds. The trip is 2 hours longer, the boat is newer (8 months old), the crew was amazing, and the food is fresh and tasty. The Four Winds III tour is perfect for people who are not very comfortable in the water. As for whale watching we saw multiple groups of whales, dolphins, an octopus and a monk seal! Four Winds III is the way to go!
