Our day at the Maui Aquarium - Beautiful displays. The whale 3D show was magnificent! Loved the restaurant on site. The Mai Tais were delicious.

Good time at the aquarium - This was fun but it was too hot inside every building! You really need AC inside all buildings with that many people!

Best way to look beneath the surface without a scuba suit. - Absolutely wonderful. More than we expected. So many things to see and local crafters on site. Best way to see below the ocean without a snorkel and flippers.

Fun place to visit. Only about 2 hours to get through. - We had to pivot our plans in Maui due to the weather so the Ocean Center was a good choice. We all enjoyed it there and appreciated the military discount.

Go on John’s tour! - If you can, get on a tour with John (it’s not his real name but Hawaiian names are hard to pronounce so he goes by John). I could have listened to him talk for hours. There were not many questions about sharks, the animals currently there and marine life he didn’t know. You can tell he is passionate about his job!

Disappointed - I was disappointed in the aquarium. I was expecting more. And maybe some shows with the animals. Thought there would be more live animals...

Over Price. Everything can be seen under less than 2hrs. Not good experience. - The Maui Ocean Center is very small. You can finish everything no more than 2hrs or less. For the price they charge - $55 per person (6 years old and older), it is completely over price. The indoor exhibits are extremely stuffy- extremely bad air flow and hot. You would think by now most of public museum would improve their indoor hvac system but definitely not this one. Yes, its cool to look at those fishes, shark and sea turtles and how they are helping this marine lifes and bringing environmental awareness to everyone but I'm just not sure if the price justified for the visit or they are just over charging the tourists.

Disappointed. - I spent over $100 for this experience. the aquarium is really cool, and it was all cool to see all of the fish and to learn a bit more about hawaiian culture, I will say that. but what i was really excited about was the dome. I was going with my son, and we were both excited to see the 3d movie in such a huge dome. As we are walking in, somebody mentions that the 3d projectors are broken and instead they are just gonna use a 2d projector instead of the immersive experience i signed up for. Not even 10 minutes in I leave and go to the front desk to ask for a refund. I get a whopping $11 back. No warning, no “Hey, the 3d projectors are broken”, no heads up, nothing. I’m not even mad. I’m disappointed.
