Great crew, fantastic experience whale watching!! Leaves from Kaanapali Beach so very convenient. Great crew! - Several years ago, we went whale watching with a bigger operation and had a good time, but we saw The Magic Merman out in the water and liked the idea of a smaller, more nimble pontoon boat — they were closer to the whales and everyone on board looked like they were having a lot of fun. When we saw that they departed from Kaanapali Beach, we decided to go out with them. That was a really, really good decision. We've been going out with Magic Merman for many years. The week, Captain Makai and Emma were AWESOME! So much fun while also being professional and customer-oriented. Easy to get on and off, and we had a great trip and saw so many whales, one of which was breaching right next to the boat. If I had stayed in Maui longer, I would have gone out with them again. I highly recommend The Magic Merman!

Great whale watch experience - A great whale watch experience. We witnessed a variety of behaviours from breaching, fin slapping, tail slapping and more. The crew were experienced in finding an active group of whales.

Highly recommend this small group, personal tour with great crew - Wonderful boat and crew. Amazing hospitality - offered beverages, sunscreen, and even helped my kids use the tiny bathroom on board (when we didn’t think there would be one at all). Crew was super friendly and shared knowledge of the whales. Saw several whales and really enjoyed the overall experience. You can tell how much they love their job and the sea life.

Best whale watching experience - I have been on several whale watching excursions and this was the best. Being on a smaller boat with about 25 people made the experience personal and provided great viewing. The crew was outstanding. Shasta was a delight. She shared information about the whales and encouraged questions. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Merman best outfit for Whale watching - Great whale watching tour with Merman. Pickup at Whaler's village was easy and the staff were great. Crew was very knowledgeable and made it a really fun time. They took us to all the best spots for viewing whales and we even saw turtles at Mala Harbor. I highly recommend Merman!

Epic experience- whales galore!! - Epic experience!! Austin and his crew were wonderful! Hard working to get us from the shore to the boat. We saw so many whales - we were on many trips during our week here but this was by far the best!! Incredible!! Don’t miss out

Disappointing. - I looked forward to whale watching with Magic Merman but was disappointed. Neither the captain or guide said much and it was obvious the guide did not know much. Captain did not work to make sure all parts of boat had equal viewing, allowing those with cameras to block sight lines.
