Highlights

1900 S Kihei Rd - CHECK-IN at Kalama Beach Park at our Surf Club Maui van, we will outfit you with reef shoes and a rash guard surf shirt. We start with a short land lesson to go over the safety and technique. Then our experienced coaches get into the water with you and help you catch waves. The water is warm, and the waves are usually gentle and the water is about waist to chest deep.

PLEASE BE PREPARED: Please arrive well rested, and be sure to hydrate and Drink plenty of water before your session.

THIS GROUP SURF CLASS IS FOR MIXED AGES 11 AND UP. If you have younger kids you must book a Private lesson, or a Semi-private family class. If you arrive with a child under 11 years old the lesson will be canceled and no refunds will be given. Thank you for your understanding.

*NOTE: Surf students must be able to swim in the ocean, if you show up for the class and can not swim or are not comfortable in deep water, the lesson will be canceled and no-refunds will be given.

*Weight limit is 250 per person

*Please bring some cash for a Gratuity (tip) for your instructor.

Take up surfing in Maui. Training is provided at the finest surf location in the area. With our calm waters and approachable instructors, you’ll be up on your board riding waves before you know it. With seasoned surfing instructors, ideal surfing conditions, and limited class numbers, your experience in Maui is assured to be unforgettable. All attendees must be competent swimmers in ocean and deep waters.

Great, encouraging instructors - This was my first lesson and it was great. I was definitely struggling a lot - have a very hrd time balancing myself - but the instructor was very patient and encouraging. Even the other instructors around the ocean were quite helpful.

First surf lesson - Our grandson (15) took his first surfing lesson and absolutely loved it! When he was done he immediately asked if he could do it again! His instructor, Epps, was really good and patient with the kids and very encouraging! The photographers were amazing also!! Definitely get the pics at the end!!!

Surf's Up! - My 18-year-old twins had their first lesson last week - and it was awesome! Their instructor was David. He was calm, cool and made the experience one they will not soon forget. After a brief intro on land, they hit the water. They paddled out a little and soon after they were catching some waves. I was impressed - lol, don't think I would have been able to stand up and surf! But, they did and so did the others that were in their group. They also partner with photographers who take great action shots of the "surfers" in action. They give you the option to purchase the digital album. You will buy it - the pictures are great and it's a nice way to remember your Maui vacation. Highly recommend Surf Club Maui for surf lessons!

Amazing first time surf experience - This surf class was incredible. The instructors were very helpful and every member of my family was able to ride at least a wave on his/her own even without any previous experience. We also had access to some amazing pictures, even if they were quite expensive. We even saw a bunch of turtles while surfing!

Great surfing lessons - Great surf lesson with a fantastic teacher. After a lesson on land, they carried the boards out to the ocean to the "bunny slopes" as the instructor called it. My son was able to get up multiple times and found the instructions to be easy to follow. The instructor gave simple easy-to-follow directions. There were 4 of them in the group so they got lots of individual attention during the lesson. I would definitely recommend this company.

Maui Surf lessons - I can’t imagine there is a better surf class in Maui. Epps Sargent was awesome. The photos were also great! No need to look any further than Surf Club Maui!!

Great coaching and wonderful photographer - We had a great time at our surf lesson with Pablo! He did a wonderful job coaching both our teenagers and adults. During the lesson, there was a very good guy photographer that took wonderful action shots of my family. You can purchase the pictures afterwards and I would highly recommend doing this. I forget his name but he took wonderful photos and the purchase process at the end was very easy.
