This monumental amphitheater, built in the mid 3rd century AD (230-240 AD), is the largest Roman monument left in Africa and ranks 3rd in the Empire after those of Rome and Verona. Being one of the last large amphitheaters built during the Roman era, its architectural design is an improvement over that of the Coliseum of Rome.

A wonderful journey in the desert! - We had a fabulous trip to the desert from the town of Sousse with our driver Arbi and our guide Ali was very competent and friendly, and he patiently answered all our questions. I usually try to avoid private tours because I love to discover the places like the natives do, but this tour is really the only way to see the maximum number of sites in a short period of time. My friends and I are delighted to have booked this tour and are lucky to have had such great guides. Dinner in the desert was also one of our favorite meals of our 2-week stay Tunisia! And the tent we stayed in in the desert was incredibly sumptuous!
