EPIC!!!! Book now or miss out on a chance to have the BEST time!!! - Wow wow wow. Such an amazing experience. Highlight of our ten day trip. If u get chance to spend time with Greg and Sylvia do it, you won’t regret or forget it. What a couple, his storytelling and understanding of Italian heritage told from an outsiders perspective mixed with her culinary expertise, charisma, and an energy is something I will remember forever. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home and giving us a slice of your amazing life in Italy. I just wish I had booked a room so we could’ve continued the fun we were having. Next time for sure I can’t wait to return ❤️

Unbelievable Matera Experience - The best experience I have ever done! I have learned so many valuable lessons about food and life. Since the beginning they made us feel very welcome! Both Ella and I wanted to learn more about Matera, its culture (both food and regionally), and the italian lifestyle because of their passion. It was by far a life changing experience for me. Hopefully, in the near future, I can bring friends and family to experience what I experienced.

Unforgettable Experience! - My friend and I booked the one and a half day experience that included a cooking class, a visit to the town of Matera where we ate panzerotti and tried a local beer at a locally owned restaurant, and then had gelato while walking around Matera and were shown amazing views of the Sassi. Greg & Silvia also treated us to drinks at a fun local bar! The next day we had a delicious breakfast and then drove to a vineyard where we had an amazing wine tasting experience, and then came back to the farm to have another amazing lunch. I can’t recommend this enough. Greg & Silvia curated the perfect couple of days for us, but more than that, they truly made us feel like family. The farm is a family run business in which members of Greg & Silvia’s family are cooking the amazing food and running the farm, and everyone is so welcoming and happy to have you there. We learned so much history just about their generations of family and their lives in this region of Italy. Silvia taught the cooking class and the way she taught us to make pasta and the rest of the food’s recipes were passed down from her family. It was a cooking class and history lesson wrapped into one! We ate the food we made and more, and the lunch and every other meal was amazing, and I left feeling very full and happy every time. Spending time with Greg & Silvia was the highlight of the trip. They are full of knowledge about the history of their farm, the region of Basilicata, the town of Matera, the food, the wine, and so much more. They did everything in their power to make sure we had an unforgettable experience - and we did! If you want a truly authentic experience on an olive farm learning how to cook authentically, eat amazing food, learn more than you can imagine, and taste some of the best wine in the world - book this experience. Thank you Greg & Silvia, I hope to be back!

A true Lucanian experience! - Silvia, Greg, and the family provided an incredible experience for my partner and I. We took part in the tour of the farm and a cooking class, which was completely worth the cost and time. Firstly, Greg took us on a fantastic tour of the farm, adding some insight into the farm and the region of Basilicata, and even provided some treats along the way. Then, Silvia gave us an excellent pasta-making class including lessons on how to make a couple of local side dishes while adding in key cooking techniques everyone can use for other dishes. I'd recommend this to everyone and anyone who travels to Matera. We even got to meet Silvia's parents!

Highlight of our trip! - We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Matera Cooking Class on our recent trip to Matera. Greg and Silvia were incredible hosts and made us feel very welcome during our visit. Their knowledge of the land, its produce and typical cuisine are second to none. With Silvia’s help we made some delicious pasta and an assortment of antipasti which we are very excited to try to recreate at home! This experience was the highlight of our honeymoon and we hope to visit again in the future!

An essential part of a visit to Matera! - We LOVED our cooking class and farm tour with Greg & Silvia! From start to finish, we were taken care of, taught, supported, wined and dined, etc. Greg was incredibly patient with our schedule the day of class which was a bit unpredictable due to some issues with public transportation getting us to Matera. Once we were in Matera, we were picked up and given a grand tour of the beautiful farmland in the area, and we learned SO much! Greg is so knowledgeable about the history and current landscape of Matera, and taught us so much about the agricultural practices maintained at L'Assiolo. Then we got to meet the beautiful Silvia and learn how to make fresh pasta, pesto, and many other dishes that represented the rich history of the region. We ate the MOST delicious food of our entire trip (to the point that we had to start turning food down because we were so full, which never happens to us!). My only regret is that we didn't do the multi-day experiences where we would have stayed on the farm property -- we plan to do this in the future! Since coming home from our grand tour of Southern Italy, Greg & Silvia's cooking class has been the experience that we have discussed the most with our families. It is an essential part of any foodie's visit to Matera and we are so grateful that we got to be a part of it. Thank you so much Greg and Silvia (and family!) for opening up your incredible home to use and teaching us so much about beautiful Matera <3

Fantastic Italian Cooking Class - Greg and Silvia were fantastic. Greg provided insight and information about the Agriturismo (farm) and then Silvia shared cooking tips and methods for creating a beautiful home-cooked meal from scratch. Absolutely one of the best classes my husband and I have experienced. We highly recommend you take advantage if you are in the area.
