• Sasso Barisano - The Sasso Barisano is named for its location, facing northwest towards the city of Bari. It originally formed the main part of the stones along with the Civita.
• Piazza San Pietro Caveoso - Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, with its rectangular layout, offers a stunning view of the ravine, accentuated by an arch to the left of the church of the same name. This view provides a unique perspective of the opposite Murgia with its rock churches, and to the right, the ridge with ‘empty eye sockets,’ natural cavities historically adapted for pastoral use.
• Piazza Giovanni Pascoli - Situated to the left of the 17th-century Palazzo Lanfranchi, Piazzetta Pascoli is named after the Italian poet Giovanni Pascoli, who began his career teaching Latin and Greek in Matera between 1882 and 1884. It offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Sassi of Matera.
• Casa Grotta del Casalnuovo - At Casa Grotta del Casalnuovo, visitors can experience an authentic Sassi house through its original furnishings and daily tools used by the family who lived there. These Case Grotta are genuine ethnographic collections, small museums showcasing everyday and work objects from the time when the Sassi were inhabited, before the depopulation in the 1950s. Inside, the original rooms and furnishings of the house are reconstructed as they were before the ancient districts were vacated in the late 1950s.
• Chiesa Rupestre di San Giuliano o Madonna Delle Grazie - Historically, as noted in the pastoral visit of Mgr. Saracen in 1543 – 1544, this church was dedicated to St. Eustace.

The entrance leads to a courtyard at the end of which the chapel opens; it is topped by a terracotta bas-relief depicting the Madonna and Child.

The interior has been altered over time, leaving little of the original structure intact.

A grand Baroque altar disrupts the ancient layout of the crypt. The frescoes remain in good condition. Behind the altar, the ceiling is adorned with coffered panels and decorative motifs.
