Great experience, highly recommend - Wonderful. Oak alley was beautiful and terribly sad at the same time. I’m glad we went. The bus driver was very nice. The swamp airboat tour was the highlight of our trip. Must not miss!

Great Tour! - Oak Alley was great and insightful! Mr. Anthony was a great private tour guide and I highly recommend asking for him upon booking a tour. Captain Dewey served as our Airboat Captain, and he was truly exceptional. Despite the cold temperatures, everyone on our small airboat tour was eager and excited, anticipating the wildlife we would encounter in the swamp. The highlights of the tour included seeing alligators up close and even having the opportunity to hold a baby alligator. Captain Dewey’s keen eye also allowed us to spot an owl perched in a tree, a bald eagle nest, and egrets. I highly recommend and encourage you to request Captain Dewey for the small airboat tour—his expertise and enthusiasm greatly enhanced the experience.

Air Boat Swamp Tour was Awesome! - This excursion was a great way to kill two birds with one stone as was well worth it.
First visit was to the Oak Valley plantation. The oak tree walkways are beautiful. I wish there was more discussion and emphasis regarding the life and history of slavery during the tour. I preferred to go to the Whitney plantation for this but this was not an option for this two excursion tour. Next time I would’ve just booked the excursions separately on a different day. Nevertheless it was a busy full day.
The air boat swamp tour was the highlight for this excursion. We opted for the smaller airboat with a smaller group which was a wise choice. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable being a 9th generation in this area. We saw several gators and other forms of wildlife. Seeing the bald eagles was another pleasant surprise.

Do the small airboat - The boat ride is definitely worth it. That was our favorite part. The plantation tour is nice something I'd recommend doing once. The airboat I could do every weekend and not get bored. What I will say is that the busses back really weren't very organized. We had to get off the bus we were on to switch with another couple and this held up both busses for quite a while. We were told to get on the first bus and our names were checked off. After 15 minutes we were told to board another bus instead.

A day full of experiences - Very successful to combine the Mississippi marshes with the Oak Alley plantation. It was a day filled with experiences but without feeling too much.
Guided tours of the marshes were provided by a local guide company. The Oak Alley plantation is run by a foundation that has its own guides. So Louisiana Tour Company's contribution is to arrange reservations with the two organizers, plus bus transfers in between. Good, but it is therefore possible to make the visits on your own for those who prefer to take the car.

Unsafe Transportation - I booked this tour because it had the combo plus transportation to and from the venues. Like other reviews, I think it would have been better to rent a car and drive out yourself. Even though the transportation company was organized the driver we got was awful and sort of ruined our experience out to the plantation as he kept droning on about nothing or swerving in and out of traffic. Many people felt unsafe. I was also bummed that we got switched to the afternoon air boat rides as many animals are out in the mornings(of which they didn’t tell us but assumed we would know). The plantation guide was fantastic though. Our favorite part was the air boat. We had Jason as our captain who I would highly recommend!

Do not book this tour, but do visit the plantation and swamp. - Don’t use this tour company due to the rude and crazy drivers.
This is a transportation only company. No guides are provided by them. The plantation and swamp boats provide their own guides.
First off, the stops were really good. The plantation was beautiful and the on-site guide was great at her job. The swamp tour was also great. We opted for the small boat in our reservation, and it wound up being just my wife and me and one other couple. The scenery was gorgeous and we saw a lot of alligators and other wildlife.
Second, and this is why I would strongly recommend booking this tour with another company: it was not the small group as advertised and the drivers were crazy and, in one case, rude.
While they do pick up and return to your hotel, it is not the small ‘max 9 people’ promised in the description. Our trip to the plantation was 22 people, which made for many more hotel stops than it should have been for the advertised 9 people. Also, because our group was so large, the house tour was much bigger than it should have been, something the on-site guide mentioned several times on our tour. And, while the boat tour was great with only the four of us, the bus trip back was with at least 30 people, all with different hotels. Also, prior to leaving to return to New Orleans, we sat in the bus for at least 20 minutes, with everyone accounted for, while the driver chatted up various passengers, even after he stated we would be late getting back due to rush hour traffic and increased congestion due to the Taylor Swift concert. When we, and other groups, asked to get going, the driver proceeded to question why we were in a hurry and criticized passengers for booking a tour that ended as late as this one, which made several people feel uncomfortable. He got confrontational with the passengers asking to get going, causing us to feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Do this tour in some way, but do not use Louisiana Tour Company.
