Great day on the bayou - Our guide was very knowledgeable and also extremely entertaining. He regaled us with stories of growing up a half mile away from the dock where we started our tour. It was a cold day but he was very informative and kept us engaged so that it was still quite enjoyable. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and learn about the swamp ecosystem and how alligators co-exist with humans and other wildlife. Our guide also explained how the river has changed over time and how extreme weather has impacted the river in different ways. We passed a dredging boat and he explained the process, in addition to how the attempts to artificially control the river and flooding have led to unintended consequences.

Excellent Opportunity to See Alligators! - This swamp tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour boat captain managed to find five wild alligators along our tour, plus showed us a bald eagle’s nest. It was an epic adventure! And just when I thought the tour couldn’t get better, it did! The captain is part of a special program that means he is allowed to have a live baby alligator on his boat. My husband chose not to hold it, but I loved the opportunity to hold the gator. Amazing ride amongst the swamp! 5/5, I absolutely recommend.

Alligator Hunt - I enjoyed how the bus driver was friendly and gave a lot of facts about New Orleans and its history. The boat operator was lively and have a lot of alligator facts and information about the Barataria preserve. I enjoyed how everyone had the opportunity to hold a baby alligator. Never in a million years would I have thought I would do that but I did. Well worth the money. I saw about 2 alligators in the water which was a first time experience on a boat. The snacks from the gift shop near the boat docks (alligator jerky and sandwhich) were reasonably priced. I would like to do the tour again on a warmer day.

Swamp tour - The minibus that comes pick us up are soooo confortable, the drivers were really nice. We arrived an hour in advance and there is not much do to there so you just wait for your boat. If you go during the winter know that it's a tour of the swamp and not an aligator tour, they are more or less hibernating. The transportation was well organised. The big boat does not allow you to go to shallow waters so I would recommend to take an airboat during the winter. It must be amazing during warmer times.

Nice swamp tour - It was a nice boat tour on a beautiful day. The guide was great and informative. Saw a couple of alligators. Don't expect to see a lot of wildlife. A lot of noise from airboats passing by.
