This region was historically part of the old caravan route, exchanging gold from South Africa for sugar and salt, before reaching the Merzouga dunes.

Merzouga Desert - On the second day of the Morocco desert tour, immerse yourself in the marvels of Merzouga. After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool. Todgha Gorge - Witness another breathtaking sunrise, this time over a sea of rolling dunes. You can even view the sunrise from the top of one of Merzouga’s highest dunes. Enjoy a traditional breakfast and return to the lodge to freshen up, where you will meet your driver. Depart for Erfoud, a city famed for its fossils. Cross the Tafilalt oasis, taking a brief pause to observe an intriguing ancient irrigation system. Relish lunch and some leisure time at the stunning Todgha Gorges, one of southern Morocco’s most beautiful tourist destinations.
