Marrakech - The 5-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga begins with a journey across the Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. There will be opportunities to take photos and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views. A visit to an argan oil cooperative will provide insight into the extraction process and its various uses.

Tizi n Tichka - The tour includes a visit to the fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou and its renowned Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This location is famous for being a filming site for movies like “Gladiator,” “The Jewel of the Nile,” and the series “Game of Thrones.” After lunch in the city, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert.” The tour will then pass through the Rose Valley, the expansive Skoura palm grove, and Boumalne. Dinner will be served at the hotel in the Dades Valley.

Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

Dades Gorges - After breakfast at the hotel, the tour departs for Merzouga, crossing the Todra Gorges. There will be a stop for lunch before continuing towards the desert. Upon arrival, the impressive dunes of Merzouga will be admired, and a welcome tea will be enjoyed, marking the beginning of the desert hospitality experience.

Merzouga - Upon arrival at the hotel, which serves as the gateway to the desert, luggage will be left behind, taking only essentials for the overnight desert stay. Camels will transport guests to the camp, where the sunset can be watched. A traditional dinner and typical music will accompany the third night of the 5-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.

Exploring the Merzouga Region - Nomads - Khamlia

Merzouga - An early rise is essential to witness the stunning sunrise in the desert. There will be free time for breakfast before returning to Merzouga on camelback, where the driver will be waiting. The day will be spent exploring the Merzouga region, which offers incredible sites such as dunes, wild lakes, mines, fossilized areas, and enchanting oases, perfect for various outdoor activities.

Khamlia - The journey in Merzouga begins with a visit to an ancient eyeliner mine, followed by a visit to nomads in their handwoven tents to learn about their lifestyle over a glass of Berber tea. The next stop is the village of Khamlia, where the music and dance of the Gnaouas can be enjoyed. The residents hail from countries south of the Sahara, such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. There will be free time for lunch at a restaurant, followed by a walk through a palm grove. The tour continues a few kilometers to the wild oasis of Hassi Labiad, where dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel/riad will be provided.

Merzouga - Draa Valley - Anti Atlas - Ouarzazate

Merzouga - An early start to witness the sunrise will be followed by the fourth day of the 5-day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert, heading back to Ouarzazate through the captivating landscapes of the Draa Valley.

Agdz - The tour will cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains to reach Ouarzazate, where the night will be spent at a hotel/riad.

Ouarzazate - High Atlas - Tizi N’tichka - Marrakech City

Ouarzazate - After breakfast, the tour will leave the hotel/riad and head to the Taourirt Kasbah and the studios that have made Ouarzazate famous. After visiting these remarkable sites, the journey back to Marrakech will commence, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Several stops will be made along the way, including a visit to the Telouet Kasbah.

Telouet - One of the oldest Kasbahs in the High Atlas; after exploring this ancient kasbah, the journey will continue through the Tizi N’tichka pass with a stop for lunch before reaching the Red City. After enjoying a delicious local lunch, the return journey to Marrakech will resume, marking the end of the 5-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.
