A Camel, a Fire, and the Wide Open Sky - A three day camel trek into Merzouga isn’t just a trip. A personal film stitched together out of dust, heat, sky and silence. It begins on the road through the Atlas Mountains, winding through switchbacks that make the world fall away in layers. You pass argan oil collectives where women sit in grinding kernels by hand. The smell of roasted nut and dust hangs in the air. It feels like watching a place make itself in real time. Then Aït Ben Haddou rises out of the earth like a memory you forgot you had. The kasbah looks exactly like the movies promised. Gladiator. Game of Thrones. Kingdom of Heaven. Only here it isn’t a set. It is stone. Sun. Footsteps worn into mud walls. Walking through it feels like stepping sideways in history. The food along the way is a mixed story. The first restaurant is simple. Limited menu, but intentional. Then come the buffets. Same layout. Same dishes. More fuel than flavor. This part could be better. Morocco has some of the best home kitchens on earth. Bring travelers into a family house and let them eat at a long table with mint tea and clay pots bubbling in the corner. That would be unforgettable. The rug collective is a highlight. A real look at work done by hand, each knot a decision. It makes you wish for more of that. Show me knives being forged in a backroom. Show me a man stitching a jellaba under a bare lightbulb. Show me olive oil pressed the way it has been for centuries. That would have been magic. But then come the camels. And everything else falls away. Riding out into the Sahara makes you feel like a nomad in a story older than your own country. The sway of the saddle. The crunch of sand under padded feet. The silence that swallows entire thoughts. Give each camel a bit more space and a little more time out there, and it would be perfect. The camp is the part that stays with you. Dinner, drinks, drums around a fire. Berber rhythms echoing into a night that feels wider than anything you have ever seen. Sandboarding on dunes so soft you hit the ground laughing. And then the sky. Coming from Ohio, you don’t really know what stars look like until you see them from the Sahara. The whole sky lit up like someone spilled diamonds across black glass. And then the moonrise. Around eleven, the horizon glows and suddenly the moon rises like a god announcing itself. It is one of those rare moments you know, instantly, is going to sit with you for the rest of your life. Iconic place to crack open the Eagle Rare i brought. The ride back is another painting. Pink skies. Orange sun climbing over the dunes, shaping shadows, warming the world awake. It feels like the desert saying goodbye. If I could sharpen anything, it would be this. Add more time for the cultural stops. Bring a professional photographer so travelers can buy truly iconic shots. Set up intentional photo moments on the dunes and at sunrise. Little touches that would turn a great trip into a legendary one. The breaks on the long drive are well timed. Necessary. Thoughtful. Ishmael & mohammed were so nice, and helpful. You can tell they really cared about the group and making sure this is a story they wont forget. In the end, this was a bucket list item checked with conviction. A journey that feels less like a tour and more like a myth you got to live inside for a few days.

Habibi take me to the desert - Overall, this experience was amazing! Pick up was on time, the guide Hassan communicated everything very well and the driver Hitcham was very experienced driver and felt completely safe. Everything was well organised, we all have great fun. Breakfast and Dinner were included and the lunches were priced well also! The camp in the desert was just amazing, camel rides, sandboarding included but to do the ATV’s this is not and cost 50€ per person or 60€ for two people on one ATV. I would highly recommend this tour as you get far more than what you pay for.

Wonderful time in Marrakech and Merzouga - Khaled is the best tour guide you can find. He is very helpful in organising our day activities, arranging our hotels, and settling at the camp. For a reasonable price, this is the best experience you can have in Marrakesh and the Merzouga desert.
