One of our favourite experiences in Marrakech - Wow, what an amazing experience! We had a blast, and the meal we made was the best we’ve had in Morocco so far. We were lucky to have a diverse group cooking chicken, lamb, and meatball tagines, along with delicious side dishes and fresh, flavorful desserts. The lunch was served on the rooftop, and it was absolutely wonderful—full of vibrant flavors and simply delicious! There were a few minor things that could be improved. The tour description said we’d get to walk through the market and see a bread oven, but we missed that. It would’ve been so cool to see that, and it was part of what made the tour so appealing. Sometimes, we felt like we missed part of the conversation. Some of our group members spoke French, so the conversations with Karima would sometimes gonna knand forward in French. Hassane tried to translate, but Karima would sometimes ignore him when he tried to pause to translate. On balance I must say I was able to ask any questions I just felt list on a few occasions. The course started an hour later than advertised. We got there at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. start, and we didn’t start until almost 11. We left after lunch around 4 p.m. But don’t let these things scare you away! They weren’t major problems, I’m genuinely just saying to make the experience better. Hassane was an amazing host who took really good care of us. He made sure we understood everything, offered us drinks, and took lots of photos. He was so friendly and warm, and he really cared about us and everyone in the group. Karima was also a great instructor who shared her cooking secrets and style. It was a lot of fun to learn from her and I feel privileged to understand a little about this style of cooking. And the group size of six people was perfect. It was easy to chat with everyone and have fun together. Lovely people to share the experience with also. If you’re thinking about taking a cooking class in Marrakech, I highly recommend this one!

A fabulous experience. - We had the most wonderful time at Riad Dar Zaman and were well looked after by Humza and Karima. The local tour gave a real insight into how the neighbourhood works and functions. The cooking class was excellent, Karima shared some great tips and lunch was enjoyed on the beautiful terrace. Can’t recommend enough.

Charming cooking experience in Marrakesh - Today, I had my favourite day of our trip! Peter, Hassan and Karima were the perfect hosts - and the first new cooking tip I learned was about 30 seconds into starting the lesson! The food choices were amazing, varied and packed with flavour and I can still taste them hours after getting back to our hotel. Hassan was charming and I loved his mint tea demonstration, Karima was delightful and an extremely talented chef and I loved Peter’s tour of the neighbourhood and visiting the local bakeries and Hammam. I won’t hesitate for a second to recommend this class!

Amazing Marrakesh Food Experience - What an absolutely fantastic experience, highly recommended. An opportunity to experience the real Marrakesh and savour the most delightful food in the process. The hosts (Peter, Hassan and Karima) were super friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome. We were guided through a culinary adventure in the kitchen with the banquet served up on the roof terrace.

Wonderful cooking experience in Marrakech - What a wonderful RIAD, we booked here for a cooking experience on my birthday. Peter, Hassan and Sakina are the perfect hosts. Peter provides a great tour of the local medina, including Bread oven and Hamman prior to us preparing and cooking our meal. The food was wonderful, so tasty and we got to sit up on the terrace with two lovely Italian ladies who did the cooking experience with us. The group size was perfect, to allow everyone to get involved with everything. Fantastic English communication and so helpful, we even booked our trip to the Atlas Mountains via Peter and Hassan. I had the best birthday day in a beautiful setting of RIAD dar zaman. Highly recommend this and would happily do it all again. Follow RIAD DAR ZAMAN on instagram to get a flavour of all they have to offer and see what you are missing if you haven’t been! Thank you Peter, Hassan & Sakina

Delicious experience! - We were warmly welcomed at the riad by Adil and Karima. The tour with Adil was very informative. Afterwards we started making salads, the tajine and a dessert with lots of explanation and tips. Plus, they take really nice pictures. Well worth it!

Fabulous Morrocan cookery class - We coudn't recommend this enough!! Karima & Hassane are a great doble act and share lovely recipes with you. They both make you feel so welcome. The morinig started with a walk through the local community, Peter explained how the local community works with the bakery & hammam and we had a great wander through the local market. (This is not the souks in the medina) It was lovely to get a 1st hand expericence. We then went back to the riad to start preparing lunch. There were 4 of us doing the class together, and we all got very involved with the preparation of 3 morracan salads, caramelised tomatoes. We had chosen which main we would like to prepare the day before, Chicken with preserved lemons and olives while the other couple did lamb tagine with prunes. To end the meal, we prepared orange slices with cinnamon. Whilst the lamb & chicken were cooking, Hassane showed us how to make Morrocan mint tea the proper way. I have to say when made by Hassane it is delicious. He really is a pro!! It was the best tea we had all week. ☺ Thank you Hassane. We then got to tuck into our Morrocan creatons, what a feast. Served on the terrace it was delicious. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
