Marrakech - The operator will meet guests at their riad or hotel at 8:30 a.m. to depart from Marrakech, traveling over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Guests can enjoy breathtaking landscapes and pause for coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The afternoon will be spent exploring the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. This village, with its clustered Berber Kasbahs, has served as a backdrop for over 20 films and was a key fortress on the ancient Salt Road, where caravans transported slaves, gold, ivory, and salt from Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond. The journey continues through Ouarzazate, where lunch will be served, and then follows the Draa Valley towards Zagora, deeper into the desert landscape until dunes appear on the horizon. The mid-afternoon destination is the auberge (a small country inn), where guests will meet their camel guide and ride into the bivouac (camp). Climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before retiring to a bed in a nomad tent.
